If used without knowing his entry signal, it can work for you in the opposite direction and turn you unprofitable. Using wide SLs might be you increasing your losses, and staying on the side might be you losing out on potential winning trades😞

He probably saw something in such trade to use a wide SL, but if you're not sure of seeing anything and entering all trades with wide SLs because you know someone who does can be disastrous.

In this forex i have come to realize that at the end of the day no book or mentor will teach you all the things you need to know , not that they don't want to but there are somethings they have probably gone accustomed to , they might not even realize the reason they avoid some trades or why they shift there stop loss they will think it's gut feeling but it's due to what they've seen over the years or what they have experienced, Dapo Willis is my mentor I watched countless of his videos but I am still not profitable and I began to wonder how come, then lately I began to stay close to my chart then I began to see things that he might probably skipped in his videos but lead to the reason he took or avoid some trades, in this forex Nothing beats experience , what you see can never be unseen, my advice to my fellow newbies, stay close to your charts for now, take all those trades your strategy showed you for now and watch them closely with time you will understand why one ends up in profit and the other in loss, don't be scared of losing now , so that in years to come you will place a trade, close your laptop and go chill.

💯, just find a strategy that goes along with your way of life I.e if you rarely have time you can go with swing trading but you must be extremely patient and have the mind stomach the market movements and if it's scalping alot of scalpers are doing extremely good, find a mentor that teaches this type of strategy you want to learn and continue to learn, learn, practice, continue to learn and practice and watch the charts, I believe this is the way to profitable trading. And don't forget to involve GOD. Otherwise if person they learn from all profitable traders or learning all profitable strategy my boss person go just continue to learn till time go go ni.

If at all, we are going north on xauusd, the better target would be 1972. 1984 is possible only if the news from Powell is favourable for it to blast pass 1972 without any issue.

Personally, I am trading after Powell's speech not because i'm afraid of his speech but I noticed that trading every 4 hrs period is tasking for me...so i have decided to pick the early hrs of london session and the late hrs of london session to close of day on xauusd.

For the chart, i think we may see a pullback towards 1972 before it crumbles but it is a very risky move and is essentially a counter trend scalp. Chance of success to me is maybe 40%,,,,worth it if you are a scalper but to me not worth it if you are a daytrader or swing trader with wide stop loss.

I'll be waiting for it to test either 1972 or 1984 zones with strong rejection on lower tf for me to continue shorting.

I think bearish sentiment on xauusd is strong. Previous lows have been taken out. Higher low shows buyers have lost ground to sellers invasion. If the previous day's low is also taken then the last surviving buyer has been taken hostage by sellers. It's a free fall Wednesday.

The markets are waiting for Powell's speech. It has refused to make any significant movement. That doesn't mean his speech has not already been priced in. The original direction is still in view before or after the speech.

@Dmahn, I just looked at the CHFJPY chart. That was a nice catch. I looked into it and found a rare bullish pattern I could have sold my house for.
