Considering the amount of resources available in technology, the internet, social media, etc, I will tell you that I am sort of disappointed in Nigerian journalists of today. It just seems like they have misplaced priorities. Only very few journalists are putting the work in unearthing some of these atrocities and making them public.

The racketeering going on in public hospitals across the country, the massive corruption in the Police, judiciary, courts, different ministries and government agencies. How about the immigration, prison/ corrections? Should we talk about public universities?

Journalists are supposed to be the eyes of people through investigative works. Big credit to the group that exposed the LASU certificate scandal. Now, LASU leadership know they are being watched and will take serious steps to address the issue.

With all that being said, there is a legitimate argument that can be made that nothing comes out of it. I mean, look no further than the current APC chairman and former Governor of Kano state who was caught on video collecting bribe and the journalist who exposed the crime suffered the consequence.

I just weak for naija..
Let me shock u further as per the bolded .

The LASU certificate syndicate was busted in 2020-2021by DSS , yet some of those fingered in the academic fraud have since been promoted by the same LASU management .

Something tells me it’s the fallout of the last election, the whole Tinubu CSU certificate matter that made punch newspaper and dem Sahara reporters to dig up the story and run it now . That’s probably the reason the Lagos state house of assembly is taking it serious and want to be seen as deeply concerned about the matter .

You are not wrong if u say our media guys / journalists are doing agenda-driven journalism , but then the lukewarm optics they receive when they report some of these stories don’t help matters too .

This is because there is not much civic journalism going on anymore. What we have is more of agenda-driven political journalism. Civic journalism can be tedious and does not sell but agenda and political posturing do. The bottom line is the bottom line.
And the internet has destroyed the traditional newspaper model.

And as a Nigerian matter, if your paper is not backed by a political force, you will be starved of money

It happened to 234next in the gej years

That paper was dropping bangers

Thoroughly researched news articles

Diezani and Chris aire
Gowon selling out Nigerians to pfizer

And then everyone simply stopped abvertising in the paper and it died. It was sad and painful to watch.

People should know that there's a difference between total registered voters and total number of PVCs collected and also total number of accredited voters. This is a no brainer.

You don't even need a soothsayer or a calculator to tell you what happened in Kogi State.

I think the fact that u can get away with most of those stuff in naija is the reason most of our elite children in the past return to naija after studies abroad .

A student who despite her father being a rich politician in naija lived like normal student abroad wilt return to naija and start blowing one way with his or her police escort….. something wey be jail straight for abroad where em school
That was the thing that thoroughly turned me off cuppy. When Nigerians were queueing and struggling for NIN capture (2017 or thereabouts ) , she went to one of the centers with her security and jumped the queue. And of course she captured the whole idiocy and posted it to SM.

in line with what you said earlier banks and large companies engaged the NIN coordinatiors directly and they posted agents directly to their offices. We had someone in our office for two weeks.

There is no way the same thing was not done in forte oil. In fact they could have arranged for a nin agent to come to her house. But instead we had a silly split brat rubbing her privilege in the face of Nigerians for clout and clicks.

Oloriburuku NLC. What of those who have been brutally beaten by government policies? That one no concern them. As long as Federal workers get a raise of 35k for 6 months. The rest of us no matter.

Na thunder go fire them.

Why is nobody selling the advantages of running on CNG?

How long would a KG last, and how much would it be?

That was how innocent Nigerians converted their generators to cooking gas, because fuel was 568. When gas reach 1,000, na so all of them run back

I suspect that as a naija matter they are overcharging.
The same way mtn was selling sim at 25 to 40k when they started.

Once we have wide adoption price will drop as other people will be providing the service.

That is my take on it

We are talking about a vehicle and not a generator here o.

What of the kits themselves? How long will they last? No be to spend 500k for conversion and in 6 months, the parts are falling off and needing one maintenance or the other.

What's to say the price of CNG will not rise above the cost of fuel once demand rises.

Government and misplaced priorities as always, no surprises. I guess it's cashout time for some people.

Nigeria is an interesting country

The rise in price of lpg is pure price gouging imho. None of the factors involved in lpg supply chain have changed as far as I can see. And yet the price is literally rising every day.

CNG has been for a long time. The fact that many logistics companies never converted their trucks to CNG means it may not be as better as it sounds.

And yet, no single news on why we should look to CNG as a better alternative.

Now na 600k e go cost...

The good thing is that it is proven technology. And it has been around for over 10 years. Cng vehicles full ground for India. And India is an analog for Nigeria. Anything that works there will work here. Las Las people will start buying the kits from India.

Also it may actually be better in the long run as gas does not get the pollutants that white product gets (as far as I can tell sha)

I have not had to worry about water in my petrol and therfore my carburator. My gen has been running much better. Though it definitely burns through oil faster

Good point. I've also wondered why car manufacturers have not considered it? They will rather build a car with expensive hybrid batteries than one that can be powered with CNG. Something is not right.

Any reason why mainstream car manufacturing companies are not building cars with CNG from factory?

I'm talking of Hondas, Toyota, Nissan, BMW e.t.c

We all saw how they jumped on the hybrid and electric train. Why not CNG?

I think that comes back to supply issues. When we were younger in the abacha years you travelled with a Jerry can of petrol in your boot because you did not know if you would see fuel on your journey.

No logistics business will invest in cng until they can confirm there is a working and viable supply network for their fleet. I don't know the range of cng but it would be foolhardy to drive from Lagos to kano in a cng powered truck if there are no cng stations along the route.

The generator is a dual carburetor it uses fuel and gas
This CNG will last longer than petrol but will be expensive

Some companies do not give their drivers money to buy diesel. They will give you the quantity to take you to Abakaliki and back.

When I did my IT at Dangote Flour, they don't give their drivers money for diesel; Just road expenses

They will give you the Diesel that will take you to Heaven and bring you back..There are spare diesel tanks and extra drums in their trucks

If CNG was really a better option, many wpuld have converted

They are. Google cng vehicles India. There are several mainstream vehicles in India that run on CNG.

https://www.carwale.com/new/best-cng-cars/

There are Toyotas and Hyundais in the list.

In established markets new products even if better may not take off. As an example GSM did not take off in the US. It is odd though because they have gas distribution networks in the west and they use propane well. Infact if I recall a lot of back generators sold in the US run on propane.

Also there is a lot of virtue signaling in the west. The push for electric cars is ostensibly about the environment and green energy. So if you buy an electric car you are preserving the environment. It is complete packaged bs as electric cars run on electricity generated by fossil fuels.

But in the world of western business it is all about packaging and perception so here we are. The carbon footprint remains the same, only the process schematic has changed.

Fair point.

But if truly CNG had a better advantage than Diesel or PMS, these guys would have towed that path a little.

Funnily enough, the only CNG trucks i have seen in Nigeria are Chinese made; maybe customed for Nigeria.

I have never seen an European or American made CNG truck.

That thing may not be as better as they are hyping it.
