It's not about the degree, it's about experience. My son is in Cambridge. Should I imagine that when he finishes he will come home join a political party and then become a state governor? I would have to be nuts. Brand name universities do not equal governance quality. There are no text books or courses on how to run states or in the case of Lagos nation states. GRV would have had to learn on the job. Voters preferred not to take a chance on him.

PS. In any case is GRV an Elon Musk? Even were we to go for innovators and entrepreneurs - has he built a $1bn plus company because there are other people Lagos could call on if it came to that. Young people, some even younger than GRV.

Let him go and get serious working experience and then lead teams in the corporate and professional environment, before attempting to lead a state that is the 5th largest economy in Africa.

Work experience beats "graduate" school by a long mile. I work for a North American firm, and we have hired several Nigerian graduates with solid work experience over several ivy league and Russel group graduates with questionable work experience or weak work experience. Gbadebo falls in the latter.
