It's not about the degree, it's about experience. My son is in Cambridge. Should I imagine that when he finishes he will come home join a political party and then become a state governor? I would have to be nuts. Brand name universities do not equal governance quality. There are no text books or courses on how to run states or in the case of Lagos nation states. GRV would have had to learn on the job. Voters preferred not to take a chance on him.

PS. In any case is GRV an Elon Musk? Even were we to go for innovators and entrepreneurs - has he built a $1bn plus company because there are other people Lagos could call on if it came to that. Young people, some even younger than GRV.

Simple questions: how has Gbadebo translated his education in that institution to proven results? What are his personal achievements? What are his experience? What is on his CV? Go read up on Nigerian MIT grads doing wonders not this "architect" that has no footprint in the architectural space wanting to govern a state.

That he went to MIT does not make him qualified to be a Governor of any State.

He might make a good enough Architect BUT not a right fit to be a Governor.

What has he achieved that should make him a great leader?
