You overrate the weak Tinubu. When the North come for him, the SS, SE and MB will never protect the mandate thief and certificate forger
Sadwaste:
Northern Nigeria has been on a steady and fast decline both economically, politically and socially. The extent of its deterioration is so bad that it's happening within a generation.

Here are some examples of how the North has collapsed:

1. From the 1970's and up till late 1990's, Kano and Kaduna used to be the most industrialized states in Nigeria after Lagos. The textile factories, refineries, vehicle production, consumer goods, and agro processing etc have all closed down. Today, several Southern states have overtaken them. They include Ogun, Anambra, Oyo, Rivers and Abia states are now ahead of all Northern states in terms of industrial output.

2. There is nothing like One-North anymore. The middle belt states, particularly those with significant Christian population are no longer aligned with the North politically. They now either stand alone as Middle Belt or try to align with South.

3. North used to be famous for its vast agricultural output. The era of groundnut pyramids, cotton, hides and skin, as well as numerous cash and food crops is now gone. Sociopolitical upheavals and collosal insecurity has laid waste to it all. Many people are not even aware that some of the livestock and agricultural produce arriving in the South today are actually coming from other countries such as Chad, Niger and Burkina Faso.

4. Before, whenever North coughs, the entire country will catch cold. But not anymore, today, if they try to cough, others in the South will bang at the table for them to keep quiet. If they threaten violence, others in the South will threaten them with severe mutually assured destruction. Now, they can't threaten with military intervention/coup. They can't threaten with religious riots. The only method they're using now is fulani herdsmen but they too are receiving heavy push back in the South.

Tinubu understands this situation North has found itself, and that's why he is going all out against them without minding their feelings. Tinubu wouldn't have dared what he is doing to the North today, if it were still North of the 1970's to late 1990's. He wouldn't have dared install Wike as FCT minister. Neither would he have replaced Fulanis in strategic positions with Yorubas. At the same time, fuel is today far more expensive in the North than Lagos and most Southern states. He quickly humiliated and silwnced El Rufai before sending him on exile. Insults Buhari anyhow and is waiting to rubbish Atiku and Kwankwaso if they step out of line. Tinubu is Machiavellian, he is now using divide and conquer against the North by pitting them against MB and also against SS. Tinubu knows that Northern muslims are so unhappy that Wike is the FCT minister but he doesn't care. If they threaten Wike, militants and pressure groups in the SS will draw the battle line with muslim North. So, without having the middle belt on its side nor SS and Igbos, the core North has become isolated and Tinubu is now rallying Yorubas to go for their jugular.

While Nigeria politicians of all tribes and religions who are less than 5% of the Nigeria population are sharing their loots and consolidating their grip on powers, multidimensional poverty which knows no tribe or religion is pervading the land. Time shall tell if Nigeria will survive this in the long run.

Some fair points but ...
Underestimate the Fulani to your own peril.
Whenever they go silent, be afraid. Be very afraid.
The only time Tinubu should really sleep with both eyes closed is when the Igbo accept him.
If not, anything can happen if he keeps stuffing the government with only Yorubas.
This is Nigeria.

Will igbos ever accept him?
Never
He knows this too that's why him no send them.

Some of you really believe that Tinubu can now sit jejely and do whatever he wants... lol
Truth is that these are early innings (to use baseball or cricket terms).
Knowing Nigeria very well, serious underground work is happening as we speak.
This race is not a sprint. It is a marathon.
Unless Tinubu stops appointing only Yorubas and cast the net wide to include every group in his cabinet...
The North is using exactly the same strategy OBJ used against them when he picked Musa Yar adua to take the turn of the North.
There is a reason they picked Tinubu over all other southern candidates.
They needed a "sick" (hence intrinsically/strategically weak) politician.
Tinubu is not physically sick, but he is "legitimacy sick" which is as problematic.
Time will determine how the North will use that Tinubu's Achilles heel against him.
So calm down. Buy your popcorn and enjoy the movie.

Mister man, I really love your type, and by God's grace I pray that people like you stay in charge.

You are totally sure that they cannot do anything. lol

There is a reason I said he needs for Igbo to accept/support him if he truly wants to rule without the North, or change anything the North doesn't want changed.
If Igbo continue to hold the line against him, that legitimacy Sword of Damocles will continue to hang over him.
The North can use it against him in connivance with some "igbo Tinubus".
Oh, you think that only Tinubu is Machiavellian in Southern Nigeria? That he holds monopoly to machiavellianism? lol

Oga, your attempt to project YOUR EGO on Igbo will never work.
But, if you genuinely believe that any Igbo opinion on Nigeria is proud, then you have a serious self image problem.
The David and Goliath case I cited is exactly apt.

Ganduje is never in the same pedigree with Kwankwaso. He lacks the followership in the North and does not have the clout to pursue presidential election nationally. Tinubu is carefully neutralizing those he knows could be a threat to him in 2027 while empowering those that are weak. The likes of Matawale, Nuhu ribadu, Ganduje etc.

Once El Rufai, Atiku and Kwankwaso are neutralized, I don't see any other Northern politician who can be a threat.
You are right.

Very naive & myopic of you to think the North’s political strength lies in a few politicians that you’ve elevated to demi-gods in your imagination. What do you think our institutions like the Northern Elders Forum, the Sultanate, MACBAN and many other pressure groups exist for? Was it Atiku, Kwankwaso or El-Rufai that stopped Tinubu from his war bid on Nigér? Lol.

I tried hard to resist responding to this tripe of a thread but alas, your comment…

An Ibo man will not rule Nigeria until he learns to be civil, respectful and diplomatic in his dealings with other Nigerians. Don’t blame the North, rather, be sorry for yourself.

That’s because the baseless thread was woven by an insecure IPOB Igbo, trying in vain to project his fears and insecurities about the total political decline & irrelevance of the South East on the North and masking it as an illusionary “decline of the North”.

The OP’s end game is to try to get into alliance with the North against Tinubu by making us feel victimized & marginalized cheesy, when he’s the real victim on a deep, steep socio-political decline. Laughable and Pathetic grin

Tinubu has their mumu button. He promotes anti Igbo rhetorics while supporting muslim sentiments to impress Northern Muslims and they keep falling for it. While Tinubu queitly dismembers them.

Their hate for Christians and Igbos who embody Christianity in Nigeria has made them not to see beyond their noses.

Economically, they're out!
If they also lose out sociopolitically, with how divided and insecure North is now, then I doubt they will ever recover again. Maybe, it's nature finally taking place.

Lol, dumbo, Aba is more industrialized than both Kano and Kaduna. You think Kano and Kaduna of 1980's is still the same of today? How many of those industries are still functional today? How many new ones were built?

I'm ready to engage you if you can list the industries that are still functional in either Kano and Kaduna and I will list those in Aba for comparison. You think Barth Nnaji will spend 100's of millions in USD to build a power plant in Aba if there weren't lot's of industries that will utilize it?

Lol, it's obvious I'm expecting too much from cows and poverty ravaged illiterates.

Only kids without knowledge of Nigeria history will type trash about the North and it’s domininace of Nigeria

British gave power to the north till tomorrow.. not to west, east.. but North

For one Nigeria , and unity they allow .. south to power after 8 years and still retain kingmakers and power brokers in Nigeria

Op is still young..

The allegiance to anyone wins becomes the government of the day.. while they can chose to keep any of the south as wives and opposition

This power the south can’t have in a million years as long as Nigeria is concern

Obasnajo with his general uniform .. knee to beg Atiku and elders of the north for another term and yet in his Yoruba wisdom still install in his mind a puppet .. who turned to be a tiger ..

Tinubu must knee and beg at the right time..

His tribalism is being well documented by the north and his dealing with Yoruba cabal against the north is well received by the north

Is just a matter of time.. he come .. and those will be open before him

Mattawale .. Ganduje .. can’t and will never control Arewa .. for the have no loyalties..

As for industrialization.. when the rails are done .. in the north .. you will see those industries steaming back with Tribble force ..

The railway killed those industries ..

North still feed Nigeria till tomorrow .. una think say na those garden call farm for south.

This people are just hallucinating

I lost total interest in this article once you said the North is using herdsmen against the South.

This article is too prejud7ced and biased.

I am apolitical and neutral and speak from that point.

The North suffers locational disadvantage. The Norths "decline" also mirrors the decline of the Nigerian economy as well.

Nah, forget it. The emergence of Peter Obi has destroyed any idea of offering SE VP slot. Obi is now bigger than most Northern politicians now, if not all of them. So, who exactly will he be VP to? Atiku, Kwankwaso or El Rufai?

Secondly, even if Obi doesn't mind, Obidient movement won't even allow it. Again, should Obi decide to contest again in 2027, which he has already stated he would, then it's all over for the North, except they agree to back him unanimously.

North can't present a candidate that can win presidential election without having either the East or West fully behind them. With Tinubu contesting, the West is ruled out for them. With Obi contesting also, the East is ruled out too. Should they go for a SS man, they won't be able to galvanize the much needed block votes to challenge an incumbent. Also, with Obi contesting, SS will still give him huge votes regardless of whether North has a SS man as VP.

Therefore, the two options left for North is to back Peter Obi unanimously in 2027 or they support Tinubu. Difficult choices for them. 8 years of Tinubu will do terrible & irreversible damage to North. Supporting Obi may also mean presidency remaining in South for 16 years. They really miscalculated in backing Tinubu in 2023.
