When they are done they should go to other FHA estates like Gowon estate, Ipaja that has been totally bastardized and clean it up. After the clean up they should fix all dilapidated infrastructure in both estates.

Why would a sane person decide to build a house in an area not marked for buildings? Some of these houses have been there for more than 10 years, yet no action from the government. Abi their eyes just dey see the buildings now?

The thing is, if you've ever dealt with government agencies, you'll know they are the most confused set of people. The government is very far away from the people, and their is no proper documentation of reserved areas.

You made very salient points, and I agree with you.

Unfortunately, there is always something called "ignorance of the law is no excuse for breaking the law".

The fact that no one enforces a law doesn't mean it is nonexistent. Let's learn to understand this.

Every state and city has something called geographical and Urban Master plan.

This means there are places marked for roads, pipes, drainages, trading, electricity installation, and specific areas for residential houses.

Building in undesignated areas, even if nodded on by a government official remains risky... In time to come, another government will destroy it.

I know of massive buildings set up and housing people for decades that were later demolished for the sole reason that they were blocking drainage since they were built on lands designated for such several decades ago... Or built on lands where roads and railway lines are initially meant to pass through.

The rule is to take extra pains to discuss with town planners and surveyors before proceeding with any project... Bribing officials can only be short-term relief. When the time is right in the future, that investment is going down.

I don't understand you, many years ago houses were demolished in a community Atikporome in badagry during fashola's time. My dad's cousin who is a navy house got demolished. He has moved on since then. Lagos has been demolishing houses of natives to expand road and do other stuff so i don't know why people are wailing now?

DURING BUHARI TENURE, TINUBU CAME IN THROUGH THE BACK DOOR AND DEMOLISHED THAT FESTAC MARKET RECENTLY, WITH PEOPLE GOODS INSIDE, AND THEN RECONSTRUCT A SIMILAR MARKET.
