Good morning everyone. The voting for the award will officially close today by 11:59pm. Given the fact that some of us will be really preoccupied with one thing or another, I've decided that the final announcement of results will be made on Friday. That gives us 3 days to properly collate the results. With regard to the collation of result, a moniker from the thread tglobal came up with the idea (via an email he sent to me) that we can use a Google excel spreadsheet to collate the result. he already created the document which I'll post the link later. I'd like the house to indicate if we can make use of the spreadsheet to compute the result or do so manually. A quick response will be very much appreciated. Really sorry my distinguished Sirs and Lady to walk in uninvited but I noticed an error in the #11 awards category. I know Danielnino00 will get a lot of mentions and probably miss where I pointed it out in my vote post on the voting thread but I just thought I should drop it here and scram.  So let's get to it... 11. Best assist of the year -Victor Osimhen assist for Samuel Chukwueze vs Lesotho -Ola Aina assist for Victor Osimhen goal Vs Lesotho -Chidozie Awazeim assist for Leon Balogun Vs Central African Republic The bolded above is the only 2021 assist. The other listed two were in 2019. Also, on the voting thread.... these were the options. 11. Best assist of the year: -Victor Osimhen assist for Samuel Chukwueze vs Lesotho -Ola Aina assist for Victor Osimhen goal Vs Lesotho -Alex Iwobi assist for Iheanacho's second goal vs. Liberia Awaziem's assist was removed and not among the list of voting options in #11 Iwobi assist for Nacho is also the only truly 2021 assist. Looks like we are all in love with that Lesotho game abi. I understand it's an error and it's not easy keeping up with a lot of the data one has to collate to ensure accuracy. I know coz I've been in your shoes on this committee before. And while I know it's probably too late to change anything. I just need to point that if any of the 2019 assists win the 2021 Assist of the year, it would be very funny if someone outside our group of minds on our home thread point it out and reveal its absurdity. Please I implore the committee to look into this #11 and find how they can fix it. We cannot award a 2019 assist for 2021. I hope we understand how funny that looks. TheSuperNerd: Good Lord, I never realized this in time... In truth, I made several errors while compiling the nomination lists.. I guess other members of the committee were too busy to notice and point out the errors.. Thank you so much for taking your time to point it out.. You are right, it would be a huge blunder on our part to submit a 2019 award for 2021. it would definitely cast some doubts about our credibility to organize this award, especially now that this year edition has graced the front page. We have two options now, either we remove that category completely or we select one of the two eligible awards from the votes casted. Thegoodjoe, icon4s, Andrewbaba44 Drklever and Safarigirl, I'm very sorry once again, but we need to decide on this ASAP. |

Danielnino00: I honestly feel very bad about that, because I really liked Awaziem's assist and nominated it for Best Assist. Was disappointed it did not make the final list. Anyway, I vote we select from the two eligible assists. |

TheSuperNerd: When I saw those Lesotho games mentions, I tried to figure it out in my head if we ever played Lesotho in 2021. It was when I was on holiday in my village and i was out of Network for some days. I couldn't even nominate any assists because of the confusion. But by the time i realized, nomination had been concluded and voting started. |

Good morning everyone. Thank you for your patience so far. I'm sure we were all in high spirits after our game yesterday. That is about to get higher by Friday when we face Sudan . On that note, I'd like us to count the votes before that time.On that note, each committee member is to visit the voting thread and start the counting of votes from the start to where I made a post signifying the end of the voting. I hope we can all get our results in before Friday. Thank you. PS: I want us to do the counting manually. The idea of using a spreadsheet is good, but I'm not sure if all of us are familiar with it. It could take a while to get the explanations in. But it will definitely be used in th next award to be held.
