Having gone through the whole threads, It does seem that the Ijaws from Bayelsa are having severe orgasms because of Governor Fubara declaration. Fubara is a politician, and like all politicians they hunt for alignments (even with the devil himself), one should not be overly excited about this confession, rather should look out for his actions in the govt House.

Speaking of which, Opobo (as well as Bonny) and all its surroundings environment are Igboland in its entirety. The doubts and speculation about the origin of this two areas and others began to pour out after the civil (it does seem that there was an underground agreement btw Gowon, Awolowo and the Izons leaders to claim this territories as Ijaw reward for been on the Nigeran side). Every precolonial documents, history books by independent and govt sponsored researchers confirms these areas as Igboland having been first founded and peopled by the Igbos of hinterland, particularly the Ndokis.

What the the ijaw youth Council (IYC) have done (and is still doing) since the end of the civil war is very brilliant, they have made great strides in stamping their footprint on the land and its people, they migrated their en mass, taken up leadership positions and have tried (almost succeeded in twisting the origin history of these places). Their giant strides in this classics of expansionism and ethnic cleaning should be a thing of study in higher institutions.

Although backed by the anti- igbo federal govts since the civil war ended, I still consider it foolish, and a case misdirected brilliance by the Ijaws. This is not an evil done against a small tribe like the Urhobos, Itshekiris or maybe the Idomas, but rather you choose to hurt a giant (who still sleeps, and heals from it war injuries). In Rivers state, the igbos make up atleast 71% of the Rivers population, territory, followed by the Ogonis before we talk about the Ijaw. There is no way in hell an Ijaw man will govern Rivers states without the Igbos support, it is impossible.

As time progresses, the Igbos in Rivers state will be united as one block, and when that happens, an Igbo version of the IYC will be established, the fireworks will be so bright.

You misunderstood what the guy meant. He was saying that in the context of Rivers and Bayelsa only. In Rivers the contentious areas are areas with Ibani heritage and history like Okirika, Kalabari, Opobo and Bonny. Unlike the pure Ijaw areas in Bayelsa like Yenegoa, Brass, Nembe and Akassa. That is what he tried to say.

There are only 3 war Canoe houses with the surname Fubara in Opobo ( Black Fubara, Ogbulu Black Fubara and Ogolo Fubara) and they are lumped up with 5 other War canoe houses ( Finebone, Jungo, Bupo (Duke Norfolk) and Gogo) to form the Dappaye Amakiri section.
A royal house cannot be lumped up in a section with other houses in Ibani tradition.
The Section with Bonny royalty status in Opobo is the Dapu Polo, direct descendants of Perekule 1 through Opubo, then his son and heir Dapu.
That is why the 8 houses under Dapu section are strategically located in all the satellite villages in Opobo, stretching from Kalaibiama( Doctor Dappa house, Brown Agent Dappa house) to Opuama ( Wogo Dappa House, Ada Tom Pepple House and Ibranga Dappa house) to Kalama ( Opusunju Dappa House and Tilibo Dappa House) and in Down below ( Kalasunju Dappa house).

Descendants of Fubara Manila Pepple are still in Bonny, Jubo Jubogha left Bonny with many war Canoe Houses but his rivals which were Fubara Manila Pepple house stayed back cos they won they war (though they cheated by attacking before the agreed date).

This is common sense bro, two brothers are fighting over control of a certain land and one decides to leave to go somewhere else, will the other brother still join him to the new place?, so they’ll continue fighting?.

Oko Jaumbo, the Alabo of Fubara Manila Pepple house as at then had to send emissaries which were mostly white men to beg Jaja to return to Bonny after Opobo was founded (which Jaja refused obviously). So that means Fubara Manila Pepple house remained in Bonny.

The Fubara in Opobo might be a couple of Sub houses under the Fubara Manila Pepple house in Bonny or might entirely be another Fubara, not related by blood to the son of Perekule 1.

Let me give you a context, The present Amanyanabo of Bonny bears “Dappa” as a surname, where as the descendants of Dappa (Dapu, son of Opubo) are a royal Family in Opobo, how come he’s bearing Dappa when he should be a descendant of Fubara Manila Pepple , the only remaining royal house in Bonny after King Jaja left with Opubo Anna Pepple house?.
