African Magic bro. That's the real Nollywood know in Africa not streaming platforms

Africa gini?

How much will Africa magic generate when we are talking of reach and revenue from streaming platforms like Netflix and movie centers?

Some Nigerian movies are even being premiered in USA movie theaters now and you get the revenue in $$.

How many people watch Africa magic compared to the number on Prime/Netflix and etc?

You don’t know what you are saying walahi.

You really think every body is urban dwellers. Na Igbo movies on African Magic de penetrate local areas all over Africa

What is the number of people in local areas and how they they give you revenue to make you achieve success in your movie?

Which would you pick?

—A deal to premiere Netflix original for your movie?

—Deal on Africa magic TV to for poor people in Africa?

Do you know why Nigerian artists don’t perform again in Nigeria? It is because one performance in USA alone is enough to cover for 500 performance they do in any African country.

When Davido came to ATL few week ago, I spent like $200 for just me and the person I took there. And that’s not even the most priced ticket.

Thats 200k from two people and you have a Statefarm arena venue that fit collect over 18k + people.

Do you think Davido will make that amount in his lifetime performing for villagers in Africa?

It's not about revenue from one movie, it's about general revenue from the industry

A movie is part of the generic revenue.

It’s is a cumulative. If you make 50k movies today and you only generate 10million from it & you make just 200 movies and generate the same amount, which industry would you rate as the best?

Whether by number of movies, whether by revenue, the Yorubas are still at the very top.

I don’t know what you’re talking about tho. Maybe Kunle Afolayan should buy Keke NAPEP and be selling his CDs in Africa remote village to be notorious then.

We have different catchment areas in mind. When Japan started making cars it was rejected in Europe but they tageted lower income groups. Today they remain highest car exporters yet they don't have expensive luxury cars

Una no Sabi business forget. High revenue from one quality movie doesn't make you better. The low quality movies Igbos focus on have general revenue but you won't understand

If we are having this conversation in 2007, I will say you are correct.

But bro this is 2023, it’s only an illiterate economist that will continue to target low income earners when he has the bandwidth to target the high end market simultaneously.

We are Yoruba, with the right environment, we will playing global and not local. Even our old musicians have always played on a larger global scale.

This comparison with cars is not the same as movies. Do you think Innoson target poor people for his sales? How will he even reach break even if he did that?

Let me give you another analogy.

Because you have Netflix, Prime, movies and etc now, it’s better you create movies that appeal to that base. It is a case of using a platform that is there to speed up your success.

Take Innoson/Nord for example, they are now assembling cars and building some part for themselves using technology that is already there while they sell to the rich class.

Innoson did not say that because he wants to appeal to villagers, he will now start creating vehicle made out of wood and rubber so as to mass produce it to low income earners.

You’re not the one that’ll tell me about intelligence. I’ve reached a level in life that it’ll take someone so ignorant to question my intellect.

Global stage is the main goal of every civilization. The world is fast moving and there are lot of inter connectivity. Anyone still stuck within his local framework won’t be able to meet up with his peers whether in movie, music, or any industry.

Lol, you call Afro beat “lacking quality”? I don’t know if you live in the West, but if you move out and see how people are accepting Nigeria music and major lounges, restaurants, radio, clubs, and etc jamming Nigeria music, you will NEVER say it lack quality.

If you sau we don’t have lyrics, I will agree. But this century music is not about lyrics anymore, it is the vibe and acceptability.

That’s why even ordinary amapiano beat without voice will sell O2 arena.

lol Asgard, you are still living in year 2001.

This is 2023, who gives a feck about other smaller African countries when men are now taking their film to the movies, YouTube, Netflix, and other streaming platforms.

You think we are still in the era of home video or what? How much will you make by selling your CD in Congo for example when you can take in millions instantly by premiering on Netflix?

Go and check the highest grossing movies out of Nigeria, that lies your answer.

You know what gave Yoruba the edge in movie industry? It is technology and fairness. If you remove fraud from any system, it will be hard for an Igbo man to compete.

Before the outburst of Kunle Afolayan some years ago on some Igbo pirates who use fraud to game producers, pirate their CDs, and then try to gag them even at the producing side, it used to just be business as usual. When movies started to digitize, it got really hard for those fraudulent pirates to steal people life investment so things flourish coz people now go to streaming platform and movies and money get to the actual producer removing the menace of piracy.

Another mumu without native intelligence I have been talking about. While you don't travel more than Igbos to Europe and America, note that Igbos don't see those places as superior. That is because you’ve not shown me data especially when you re-echo IPOB bureau of statistics.

I can say Yorubas are the richest ethnic group in the world. In my village, people will cheer me on but if I say that in the gathering of intellectuals, they will ask me for data before they accept it.

Anytime I see anyone parrot Igbo are the richest, I just take the person for a comedian learning how what to say to make people laugh the most. Except if it’s Igbo in planet Mars and not the one we are all seeing in Nigeria.

You’ve started another lies.

Yoruba travel more to USA and Western Europe generally than any other Nigeria ethnic group.

Me I don’t just talk, I can back everything I say with datapoint.

Yes based on this data, it shows the Yoruba have the highest number of rich and middle class.

You know why? It’s because the data is presented as a percentage. If you check the population stats, the SW have larger population than the South East.

So if 67.8% of the SE population is tagged as rich, then judging from population number, we have more rich Yorubas based on the 67.3% when you factor in the whole number.

Thank God I’m using your own data to reach the conclusion.

SW population is not yoruba population. The data shows that the gap in wealth is very wide if SE alone can record such. Rich Igbos outside SE added will increase the gap wider

Lol. Now you’re turning logic on its head.

Everything domiciled within the SW will be counted as her GDP, household, riches, and poverty and that includes the assets and liabilities.

Poor Igbos, Hausas, Kanuri, Fulanis, Ijaw, Itsekiri, and etc that live in the SW are also counted as part of the poor people in the SW. why did you not factor that in the metrics?

Don’t commit intellectual dishonesty. Just as we have poor Ibos living in the SW, we have rich Hausas living in the SW and they ALL count. No one use rope to drag them to live in the West.

Igbos are largest non indegenous population all over Nigeria, their mastery of trade create huge rich and middle class. Of course there are poor Igbos in SW but the rich and middle class are larger by far, the fact they have it among those left at home means they even have more among their sojourners
