Even worse when you consider that we have poor regulation oversight of dish washing liquid. Glycerin is typically added to the more expensive dish washing liquids to protect the skin.

And you also have the low level liquid soap (sold by aboki) that peels your skin after use. One time someone used it to wash a car and the paint started peeling and flaking.

Same applies to detergent and soap for fabric. Omo from my childhood was practically industrial detergent we used to fade blue jeans. Now imagine putting your hand in that for prolonged periods

As an aside, You may not have noticed but people in obodo oyibo wear gloves for a variety of tasks we take for granted

Hmmmm .... university student .... focus on hand washing record. She couldn't be too bright ... if her hands became white and she had to be hospitalized it tells me the soap she was using was not a verrrry mild handsoap.... and it is very possible this can result in serious long term health issues. I wish we can get an update in 6 months time let us know how she is doing at the university and healthwise.
