IamAtikulate:Wrong economics. Seems like you cram and comsume all the unpractical things they tell you. Do you know how much the USA owe? You are talking about debt, go and read your economics in practical ways. You people will have all sorts of excuse to cover your short comings. How can an adult say that IGR doesn't say anything about the reflection of an economy? Can you compare Lagos and Anambra economy? So because lagos has more debt then that mean Anambra is doing well? That also means Nigeri is doing better than USA since they generate for revenue and have higher debt. So dumb So UK that have good tax system and are living on it that your fellow easteners always want to go there are dumb abi? Omoooo... I dey hear things for this country. Everyone is an analyst, and they do it out of emotions. Economics is not based on emotions |

KwuoteYourFada:In the voice of Mr. Macaroni " Are you normal" What is tax? Tax is a levy on economy activity or consumption. How can you isolate tax from productivity when they are so closely connected? Have you checked out the linkeage between tax and GDP in the OECD countries? Do you see any failed states in the list below? Are any of these countries low GDP states. Why are you allowing me cheap shots? Taxes on economic activity and consumption (IGR) completes the loop for better infrastructure leading to higher productivity/consumption and higher forward IGR. If Anambra has weak IGR it is a forward indicator of poor infrastructure. Yes you can monetize poverty to keep producing huge untaxed sweatshop profits for the minority it is not sustainable and will lead to high outwards migration. Modified. BreconHills:You're right to some extent, but his point and what you also fail to understand is how every government tax her people. You need to put that into consideration too. The way the UK government tax her people and the way the german government tax her people can not be compared, the UK government tax more. An environment with high economic activity and the government also 2% from her people, and another environment or state with high economic activity and the government also tax 5% from her people can never have thesame IGR ,the later will always have higher revenue, because of the different level of taxation. |

80% of those revenues are from companies or igbo businesses in those areas. This goes to show the reason why anytime Igbos mention secession the whole country will enter para mode because igbos are unarguably the lifeline of a dead country Nigeria |

Faiththatworks:this is why I advice people to invest in landed properties around ogun state, close to Lagos. Atan, Agbara and sango. You can still get landed properties less than a million around there then resell later |

BreconHills:so by your logic Tax is directly proportional to economic activities of a state? ![]() About your list, Lol check out the top economy of the world did you them there? ![]() It shows one thing, Tax isn't a proof of the economic activities of a state Rather GDP is, that's why it's called Gross Domestic Product That's why Anambra ranks above all your states apart from Lagos in GDP Go and read more boy |

plaindealer:How is it irrelevant you dumb nitwit? Igr simply means tax returns from businesses situated around the state. If Lagos taxes 10% of 100 businesses and Anambra taxes 3% of 100 businesses, guess whose igr is bigger. As citizen of Lagos u should not be rejoicing over igr but instead asking the govt what it's doing with the high tax and why your business is not better than the Anambra man own |

plaindealer:The sE is an economic hub. In onitsha there are more 50000 traders doing business. Of that amount 95% are igbos. If I want to start a business Selling clothes will I start it in onitsha where there are more than 10000 Igbo men doing the same business or will I go to a region where the people are economically naive and start the business there? As you can see they are not running from their place, igboland is saturated with enough businesses so they have to go new places to seek new business. Nothing is special about sw, they are in Benin city where I stay they are in the north in Africa and all over the world. |
