bidexiii:What I am saying is that there is no indices to prove that camo has increased the job effectiveness of like the example you gave, the police. Except I'm missing something camo is to blend into the environment of operation. Is it not? Please tell me how this blue will blend in the bush or in the desert. That can only leave two other things which are common to Nigerian parastatals; waste or fear factor. |

#ROAST THEM ALL #SUYANIZE ISWAP/BHT NAF AIR STRIKES HIT TAGOSHE ON THE MANDARA MOUNTAINS, ELIMINATE ABU ASAD AND OTHERS In what could be described as arguably one of the most successful strikes undertaken by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft, on 24 November 2023, carried out air strikes on a massing of terrorists in an isolated location consisting of 3 zinced structures amid several trees. From the footage, it was evident that the terrorists were massing up at the location for either a well-planned meeting or preparing for a major attack on own troops. Over 100 heavily armed terrorists were observed throwing banters and moving randomly around the structures which also had 4 troop carriers. The aftermath of the air strike revealed that 2 out of the 3 structures, as well as the entire troop carriers were destroyed. There were also indications that one Abu Asad, a key figure in the Ali Ngulde group under Boko Haram, and several of his fighters were among the several terrorists eliminated in the air strike. The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar has since commended the Air Component Commander and his men while urging them to continue to synergize with the Land Component as they maintain the momentum in, “keeping the terrorists on their toes.” According to him, “We must continue to justify the trust and confident the Federal Government and our people have bestowed on us by ensuring that we go all out in making life unbearable for these terrorists and criminals until they surrender or are completely eliminated.” Edward Gabkwet Air Commodore Directorate of Public Relations and Information Nigerian Air Force 25 November 2023

Burkina Faso: hundreds of terrorists decimated in Djibo A provisional assessment reports more than 100 terrorists decimated on Sunday during a counter-offensive by the Burkinabe Armed Forces against terrorists who tried to seize the city of Djibo, in the north of the country, according to security sources. For several hours, the Fighting Forces showed fierce resistance to the enemy. The fighting was particularly violent at the local military camp. The combined action of ground troops and air carriers made it possible to inflict a crushing defeat on the criminals. This count of 400 killed terrorists takes into account only the remains found on the outskirts of the camp and the city. The number of assailants killed in their escape through the bush and tracks is being compiled. On the side of the General Staff, we already welcome this feat achieved by the valiant Fighting Forces. This was a good UAV strike followed by exploitation of the area for intelligence. I think this second bit is lacking in Nigerian armed forces counter insurgency strategy. Eg the strike on mandara mountains. no QRF team with DIA officers were helicoptered into the area for exploitation and data mining. At least useful intelligence for next strike can be gathered, even from the wounded remnants of rhe strike. Troops of MNJTF Sector 4 in Niger 🇳🇪 Repel Boko Haram Attack, Neutralise Terrorists In a display of unwavering courage and resilience, #Niger troops of Sector 4 MNJTF successfully repelled #BokoHaram attacks, neutralising seven terrorists and recovering a cache of weapons and ammunition. The fierce clashes unfolded on 29 November 2023, at Bilabrine. Promptly following the Bilabrine attack, reinforcement troops dispatched fell into an ambush few kilometres east of N'Guigmi. The Boko Haram's attempt to hinder the reinforcements proved futile as the troops swiftly repelled the ambush, eliminating one terrorist and recovering a significant arsenal of weapons. Chadian reinforcement troops from Daboua encountered an IED en route to the area, causing a temporary delay. However, their determination to support their Niger comrades remained unwavering, and they successfully reached the scene. The combined forces of Sector 4 MNJTF Niger and Chadian troops embarked on a further operation, meticulously combing the area for any remaining threats. Their efforts yielded the recovery of additional terrorist bodies, AK47 rifle, and machine gun

Isn't that why you have UAV and surveillance assets in the air??. Backed up with Tucanos and J17s? Artillery firesupport directed by the UAV to support the QRF going in. And military support from a nearby base for the QRF. This is inside Nigeria we are talking about. NO BANDIT or terrorist should have confidence in operating in Nigeria with all these assets Nigerian has. I really don't think Nigeria has taken on board a lot of counter insurgency improvements in 14 years of war. bidexiii: |

bidexiii:EVERY SETBACK IS A SETUP FOR A COMBACK, CAS TELLS AIRMEN IN PORT HARCOURT Following the unfortunate crash of a Nigerian Air Force MI-35P attack helicopter in Port Harcourt on Friday, 1 December 2023, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar travelled to Port Harcourt to assess the situation, visit the crew and encourage the personnel of 115 Special Operations Group (115 SOG). While addressing the personnel of 115 SOG, Air Marshal Abubakar encouraged them to see the setback as a setup for a resilient comeback, channelling efforts toward thwarting the activities of economic saboteurs and countering oil theft. According to him, “You must therefore never be discouraged as the hopes of millions of Nigerians rest on our shoulders. The realization of these aspirations is hinged on our ability to combat all forms of criminality that threaten our peace and stability.” He went on to inform them to see air accidents or mishaps as impetus to propel all NAF personnel towards seeking improved safety management measures, while remaining undeterred and focused in tackling the myriads of security threats facing the nation. According to the CAS, “Times like these are a sad reminder of the inherent risks in military aviation, especially when flying activities, occasioned by our current security challenges, have tremendously increased. As we continue to fly intensively, incidents are bound to occur. Nevertheless, we must continue to ensure we minimize the risk factors as reasonably practicable.” Air Marshal Abubakar also commended the crew for the professional manner in which they handled the emergency situation they found themselves. “Your actions were commendable and a decisive factor in mitigating the extent of damage to public property and loss of lives” he noted. Speaking further, the CAS stated that 115 SOG has been well known for its gallantry and fighting spirit and the mere presence of the MI-35P helicopters on the battlefield has been a game changer. He went on to state that the helicopters have, over the years, continued to strike fear deep into the hearts of terrorists and other criminals while at the same time boosting the morale of surface forces. While extending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s appreciation for their sacrifices, Air Marshal Abubakar assured them of their welfare and other needs to ensure they effectively carry out their assigned duties. He also informed them that he had directed for the immediate commencement of the accident investigation, “So that we can learn exactly what happened and prevent future occurrences.” Earlier, the CAS had visited the 5 crew members of the ill-fated aircraft and directed the Commander of the Medical Centre to ensure they received the utmost attention required. The Army Chief arrived the community in the early hours of Tuesday 5 December 2023, accompanied by Principal Staff Officers from the Army Headquarters and the General Officer Commanding 1 Division, where he met with the Dangaladima Zazau, the District Head of Rigasa, Architect Aminu Idris, other leaders and members of the community. The COAS in an emotion laden speech expressed regrets on the unfortunate mishap, describing it as a very disheartening occurrence. Speaking further, Gen Lagbaja noted that in the recent past, the general area of Tudun Biri and adjoining villages were infested with armed bandits, who terrorised the communities, until troops of the Nigerian Army started conducting operations to sanitize the area and make it habitable. He pointed out, that the troops were carrying out aeriel patrols when they observed a group of people and wrongly analyzed and misinterpreted their pattern of activities to be similar to that of the bandits, before the drone strike. The COAS stated that he was in Tudun Biri to personally witness the site of the mishap and to convey sincere regrets and unreserved apologies on behalf of the Nigerian Army to the District Head and people of the community, as well as the Government and entire people of Kaduna State. He disclosed that he has ordered a thorough inquiry into the incident to ascertain and identify areas of deficiency that led to the inadvertent disaster, adding that the findings and overarching outcome of the investigation will guide the NA in meticulously and professionally seeking and applying lasting solutions to identified lapses and deficiencies in both the human and Artificial Intelligence variables that will forestall future recurrence. The District Head of Rigasa, Architect Aminu Idris in his remarks said despite the enormity of the incident, the Nigerian Army showed integrity in accepting responsibility for the drone strike and urged its leadership to intervene in bringing succour to hospitalized victims and the community for their losses. He maintained that the community is a mixed community of both Muslims and Christians and that the victims are of both faith, contrary to earlier insinuation that the community is solely Muslim. General Lagbaja also commiserated with the Chairman Jamaa' atu Nasru Islam, Kaduna State Prof Shafiu Abdullahi and other clerics. The Chief of Army Staff equally visited affected victims at the Barua Dikko Teaching Hospital Anguwan Rimi, Kaduna, where he expressed concern for the speedy recuperation of the hospitalized persons and made an immediate donation of several provisions for their upkeep. Have watched alot of Bayraktar strike especially during Armenia vs Azerbaijan conflicts that started in sept 2020. And of recent Militaries from Burkina-Faso and Mali published videos of Bayraktar strikes, which where devastating. For me I suspected its a TB2 UAV strike. |
