Islie:That's a strategic international business move from a scion of the Oppenheimer family of SA. On a very serious note, it is highly asinine of some young posters here on this NL thread to be insulting Black SA folks. It is not true that there are no Black South Africa millionaires as well. Yes, there are some of them who troll online and other folks among them do NOT like the relentless immigration into SA, but South Africans generally are jovial and have good things to say about other Africans as long as there is NO condescending attitude towards them like you see here. Period. 2 Likes 1 Share |

MEEVEET: Fair argument, but still your fault in not finding out if there could be manufacturers within Nigeria. Since you're in manufacturing, you ask fellow manufacturers who will ask other manufacturers, out of which one or two will know someone or people who know GZI. Google search for "Can manufacturers in Nigeria": https://www.google.com/search?q=can+manufacturers+in+nigeria&oq=can+manufacturers+in+ni&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqBwgBEAAYgAQyBggAEEUYOTIHCAEQABiABDIICAIQABgWGB4yCAgDEAAYFhgeMggIBBAAGBYYHjIKCAUQABgPGBYYHjIICAYQABgWGB7SAQkxMTMwMGowajeoAgCwAgA&client=ms-android-samsung-gj-rev1&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8 Please conduct better searches next time. |

bukatyne: Whites. Apartheid deprived blacks of the rights to property in their own lands. It's deplorable thing to do. Unlike African Americans, this happened on their soil. So it was terrible. |

FireUpNow: Far better, sentiments aside. An average Nigerian battles with more challenges than they do. This includes water, electricity, bad roads, bad schools, lack of basic amenities, lack of opportunities, high food prices, the lists is long. Give an average hard working black South African a visiting to the U.S, Canada or U.K, he is highly likely to return back to South Africa after a week or two. Give an average Nigerian the same opportunity, and he is not coming back any moment soon. 3 Likes |

bigbauer: 👉I hope you are aware of the current price of gas. Any source of electricity which is not from the public mains is too expensive for manufacturing or even domestic use. 👉 Even for your own private use, converting your petrol or diesel generator to gas is relatively cheaper, but not cheaper than using NEPA. Unless you are an elected political office holder, nobody can afford to run a generator for 24 hours continuously, but you don't ration NEPA supply. 1 Like |

bigbauer: GZI is significantly bigger in capacity than the other one you mentioned. GZI produces almost all the cans for the canned drinks produced by NBC Coca Cola, 7up bottling company (Pepsi), Guinness & Nigerian breweries ( malt and canned beers). You are looking at billions of cans every year. Ayodeji Adelakun the CEO really did well within such a short span. And for him and the board to sell, It would have taken at least 700 million dollars. |

forgiveness: Don't expose your ignorance on a public forum, sorry to say. GZI Aba is not owned by any Nigerian from SW. Initially the first plant at Agbara, Ogun State was owned by an Israeli. Due to the success of the company and the need to reach to other market interests from the East a proposed land was acquired in Emene, Enugu to build the second plant. Litigation and challenges over the land made them acquired the Aba land for GZI Aba. The Israeli sold some of the shares to some Nigerian investors(Igbo and Yoruba). Before the South Africa plant there was a Kenyan plant. Though operation did not start until most of the equipments were shipped to SA. SA plant is not as successful as the Nigerian plant. Reason why some of the assets were moved back to Agbara and Aba plant. Generally Gzi is a great place to work and the prospects of beverages CAN keeps on increasing as the world look forward to environmental friendly package on like PEPT that add up to the greenhouse warming |

They have different can sizes for 33cl regular can, 33cl skeek can, 25cl can size and 50cl size too. Nampak only have 33cl regular. 2 Likes |
