sunboy:Big lie, Ashawo' is "Igbonization" of Ashewo'. Same way "Agbero" is ignonized to Agboro in Igboland. This is because those Yoruba words did not obey the rule called "Ndakorita Udaume" (agreement between vowels) in Igbo grammar. In that Igbo grammatical rule, there are two groups of vowels, the A-group and the E-group. In every typical Igbo word, two vowels from different group can never be found in one word unless the word is a combination of two different words and can be separated into it's components parts. A non Igbo word that disobey this rule, igbos pronounce it with a replacement of the wrong vowel. Now, is Agbero, also called Agboro in pidgin Nationwide? |

Neckpresser101:"Oba" in Urhobo language means the "the end or last point/place", "the highest authority" you can report to or take a matter to" possibly for adjudication. So it is possible Yoruba adopted that kingship title from Benin. |

lexylaw40:Oduduwa came from Bini to save Ile Ife from Oyo that his grandson eventually founded? I wish you knew how ridiculous this sounds. |

DeOTR:His grandson only changed the king's title from ogiso to oba according to the write up |

Yorubas trying to twist Bini history, very funny people. Oduduwa who fall from sky is actually a Bini man. |

PaellaPaella:You Twist History yet you accuse those who Correct you if distortion Ijaw Itsekiri Ilaje Oyo Awori Egun all have almost the same History of Lagos It is only Benin,'s account that is different Same thing you did with the History of Oduduwa If Ooni of Ife turns up in benin and Claims the Throne and Kingdom of benin he too is also right Ok, Let us look at the praise names of oba of benin One of it is Abieyuwa N'Ovbi Odua N'uhe The son of the wealthy Odua of Uhe(Ife). (Odua of Ife is the same as oduduwa of Ife) Another of oba of benin's praise names is Ovbi' Adimila The son of Adimila oduduwa was also known as Olofin Adimula Which was his Title Notice there is no mention at all of any Ekhalerderhan of Igodomigodo or izoduwa that got lost They did not remember or mention any Ekhalerderhan and izoduwa too is not happening anywhere in oba of benin's praise names but they called Oduduwa the great Odua of Ife his Father So with their own mouths they themselves have already given the evidence that fully demolished and destroyed their case which had no legs to stand on in the first place and have confirmed with your own Mouth that the oba of benin was indeed oduduwa's Son There is nothing left to drag because it is settled |

Kirigidi:Do you know that Yoruba has the first organized monarchical system in the Nigeria space. O ba means he who presides over with authority. Oba ba lori ohun gbogbo. Meaning the king presides or has the preeminence over all things. Some people think Yoruba don't know their history. The oral literature of Yoruba is very rich in history of stories and events as far back as 1300. |

Dsimmer:The Benins notice the Ife people needed Organization after venturing into their land and they sent in their son to start a dynasty there which soon birthed the oyo empire, because Ife and oyo lack the skill Of proper organisation the kingdom collapsed within a short while |
| Re: Meet Prince Ekaladerhan Of Benin, Popularly Known As Oduduwa by ivolt: 6:26pm On Dec 01, 2023 |
Kirigidi:They couldn't have adopted a word which has no correlative meaning in the alleged origin language. Especially at a time where language is solely transmitted via word of mouth. There is no record oral or written that shows that the Ogisos were called "Obas". Oba loosely translated as "he who reigns" has no secondary meaning in this case. It is specific word for a Yoruba king. |

illicit:It is called omo noba Simple meaning it means king Deeper meanimg It means omo noba ( the child that shines for the edo people) that is the actual title not just oba |
| Re: Meet Prince Ekaladerhan Of Benin, Popularly Known As Oduduwa by illicit(m): 6:48pm On Dec 01, 2023 |
Thebadpolitican:Lol Omonoba is a corruption of the Yoruba words 'Omo Oba' Prince The first Oba Of Benin was a Prince from Ife Omo is a Yoruba word, meaning child, Benins adopted it. 👌 How does the child that shines for the Edo people translates to KING 🤷 |

Yoruba owns the word ' Oba " we gave it to the tiny Edo people. Below is the pictorial image of who owned and used the word before we inculcated it into Benin Kingship being our junior. Note ; the picture taken in the year 1937. Observe the name and title of the then-Oba of Benin. Lmaoo.

Thebadpolitican:The Ekaledehan who died in Ughoton. Na craze? In fact, Before the existence of the whole Bini, Oduduwa already ruled several years and died! It was even Bini who were crying for organisation thus Oranmiyan being there but had to leave because he couldn't be in two places at a time thus had to leave for Oyo thus their anger because they didn't want Oranmiyan to leave. Then the Bini quickly made his son a king after he was birthed while Oranmiyan already left. |

All these things wouldn't be issue if our parents didn't give up on their identity on the basis of religion and civilization. On top of that, the government banned the teaching of history in our school system |

lexylaw40:You're a liar This is the true story: Kingdom; they are the Ogisos. The Ogiamien Royal Family has been in existence since the year 900 AD until 1200AD, when the then ruling Ogiamien leased part of the Igodomigodo land to Oba Eweka 1, as a result of the treaty at Ekiokpagha, which led to the leasing of half of the Igodomigodo land to the then Oba of Benin. All the documents of lease from Oba Eweka 1 to the immediate past Oba of Benin are in our custody.https://www.google.com/amp/s/guardian.ng/features/ogiso-and-ogiamien-are-aborigine-binis-while-oba-of-benin-is-of-yoruba-descent-high-chief-esotericist-monday-wehere/amp |

PaellaPaella:In deity oduduwa fell from the sky. But as an Oba he never fell from the sky. Will your Edo brain has the capacity to know this.? Oduduwa Sango Ogun Ayelala Olokun Ogun Obatala All these were human but converted to religion so that their names will not be forgotten. Oduduwa never gave birth to Oranmiyan..he was not even d father. Oduduwa died over 800 years bf Oranmiyan was born. Mistake u modern Benin are making. You're reading Yoruba history that's too sophisticated for you to understand and giving it straight meaning. |
