Blame APC government, the destroyer of economy, mandate thieves aka snatch, grab and runaway, looters and bunch of religion bigotry. Under their governor, everything is going down down down down down down. It will take a higher power to rescue us from them. |

Pay them their worth. No health care worker should be struggling to feed their family or provide basic amenities to their loved ones |

spiSeyi:lol. Which shortage? Uk is desperately understaffed and looking for nurses especially and other health care personell. I read last year that 40,000 nurses left the NHS in 2021 and they have to be replaced. Some emigrating doctors from Nigeria don't mind becoming Nurses sef. lol. |

How dumb can anyone be to compare salaries in two countries as if the standard of living is the same. How many of you realize, especially those that are supposed to know better, what we spend in a Nigeria for food, fuel and housing in a year can not last a single month in Europe? Pay doctors a million and others like plumbers, iron workers, engineers, managers what? You might as well become the highest paid politicians in the world in Nigeria. |

GboyegaD:That must be a special case. I know hospitals looking for young doctors to start residency even without primaries at hand. eg FMC Nguru, also check out for FMC Yola |

After closing the state university teaching hospital in Orlu, how does the new federal university teaching hospital in Owerri come to be? Owerri people have been celebrating news of a possible new federal university teaching hospital in Owerri. For more than 20 years, Imo state invested in a state university teaching hospital in Orlu, but most people of Owerri never saw the hospital in Orlu as worth it because it was not in Owerri. Not even after a new Imo specialist hospital was built in Owerri as condition to allow a state university teaching hospital in Orlu. APC government at federal and state levels, please reopen Imo state university teaching hospital.

This is so true, just last month, l took my child to one teaching hospital due to an emergency issue. We waited for 3hours because there was no doctor in sight. They had to bring a student doctor to attend to several sick children there. Mind you, this happened twice this year, the first time, l was told by the nurses that the doctors are leaving them behind, l didn't take it to heart. But, after the second incident, l realized that we are in need of help. |

Lymasaba:Yes many hospitals now begging Doctors to come take residency for free but they are no where to be found. Nurses, Radiographers, sonographers, Medical lab Scientists etc are all getting jobs abroad and moving. It's sad Nigeria has become a training ground for health professionals for other developed countries. Those countries are not paying our country for taking our health professionals. It could have been a source of revenue for Nigeria. Any overseas recruiter should pay a certain fees for taken any health professional from Nigeria. |

It is what it is. #500k is different from #11M ($10k) monthly Imagine you are still managing your 2003 Corolla and your junior colleague who japaed less than 2 year ago returned for vacation with Lexus LX 570? |

banku:I hope you understand that a doctor who obviously receives about $200 an hour in US can comfortably live on a salary of less than $50 an hour like nurses and pharmacists get. But they are compensated generously and rightly so. That extra compensation is the driving factor and the difference between a rich and poor country. It’s like a magnet to ferrous metals. |

Lymasaba:Maybe things have changed of late. In the 2010/2011/2012 most of my friends who had passed primaries couldn't get a place for primaries in the SW particularly those without god fathers. Many had to move a little up north for residency while others waited till they finally got a place. |

Y won't they move. In the UK, a care assistant makes close to 3.5million naira per month. Let alone a doctor. Imagine getting 750£ for just 4days work as a carer and 3000£ in a month. If u like sit for Nigeria dey claim we have no other country. |
