Gratuity Not Paid Since 2012 : Oshiomhole Shutdown Pensions Board For 8 Years! by imagrg(op): 1:40pm On Dec 03, 2023
Pensioners in Edo State are indeed suffering the effect of bad governance.

Imagine, the former Governor of Edo State, Aliu Oshiomhole shutdown the State Pensions Board till he left office so that he will not be saddled with the responsibility of paying the State Pensioners their gratuity.

This is absolutely inhuman!

In the present dispensation, Governor Obaseki is asking the State Pensioners to choose between their monthly pension and their gratuity when they demanded their unpaid gratuity since 2012.

Our old builders of the State are suffering.
Pensions doesn't tally with the present day economic realities yet the government is paying deaf ears to the cry of our supposed Senior Citizens.

This is unfair!

It's a slight on our fathers who helped to build the State in the past!
The State government must do something to assuage their suffering.

Contributory Pension is the perfect solution

Can't trust Government with your Pension especially when you are Old and less active

Interesting this must mean Pensioners aren't a huge voting block compared to thr other demographics. I could never imagine any state in America saying the cut pensions or federal government with social security. They might aswell hand they other party the seat for the next 100 years.

Pensions are not even upgraded to meet with current economic realities.

To be fair to Obaseki, he pays pensions before the 26th of every month. But the amount paid remains static.
