I traveled to the South East last month. While I sympathize with the widows of fallen officers and wish for a peaceful resolution between the unknown gunmen and police, I wasnt happy with the way the security agencies treated people of the region. The rate at which the police extort motorists and interact with civilians is nothing to write home about.

I saw a DSS operative stab the wheel screen of a parked vehicles with a dagger multiple times, why he did it is something I would never understand.

One time, the army at a checkpoint stopped vehicles on a Federal highway and ordered drivers to alight and carry sandbags for them. I spent 3 days in the SE, and in those 3 days my blood boiled.

I don't know what I'd do if I lived in the region and have access to guns. Maybe I'd be an unknown gunman myself, who knows? I think the police should evaluate how they interact with the people in the region and perhaps be a better "friend" to them.
