Go Back To School At Age 40 by opicgif(op): 9:47am On Dec 05, 2023
i want to go back to school
to study law
ive always wanted to do this but felt i would be too old
as of last year, ive seen a lot of older people graduating or in law school
rotimi amaechi is an example

which private university can i go to, and still live off campus with my family
i am in rivers state
i am excluding RSU and Uniport,
i would want to carry out this endeavour without delay from ASUU strikes

any suggestions?

Re: Go Back To School At Age 40 by Karlifate:
opicgif,

Here are some Private Universities you can study Law in Nigeria:

1. Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti - I've heard some good reports from acquaintances & third parties about their Law Degree.

2. Baze University, Abuja - Well, some report had it few days ago, that they run unapproved Law program.

3. American University of Nigeria, Yola, Adamawa State

4. Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State

5. Benson Idahosa University, Benin, Edo State

6. Lead City University, Ibadan, Oyo State

7. Etc...

NOTE 1: There are many others. So, you can personal research on this to know which will suit you, putting the following into consideration:

— tuition fee;
— cost of living in the state and/or town;
— security;
— recognition of your prospective alma mater in the job market;
— how easy will it be to relocate from Rivers State to your preferred State/Town of study;
— etc...

NOTE 2: This is just my suggestion. You can consider other reasonable suggestions & draw up your conclusion.

Good luck. wink

I 1000% support you.. rare Reasoning .
No shame in this Sir @least you not a fool for life after 40 grin grin grin
I used to lecture 9 years back then in Nigeria, i had this part time student of 60 yrs, cos he needed promotion with it in Fed gov job.

You can do Adult classes or part time, not necessarily full time & it gives u opportunity to live off Campus...

This is what Pit Obi should have done when he was around similar age instead of finding difficult times or problems with any new policies tilumbuubu took for the development of the country..

Re: Go Back To School At Age 40 by omoyankee3: 1:49pm On Dec 05, 2023
Go for it!

Age is just a number
Re: Go Back To School At Age 40 by Nazgul:
There's nothing wrong in going back to school at 40. Shaeed Osupa recently just graduated from the University of Ibadan, and he's way over 40.

However, I would recommend that you study it in a private university (that's if you have the funds for it) cos with the way most federal and state institutions are increasing their fees, it's very easy to predict an ASUU strike in the future.

And law is a 5 year course. Imagine adding one or two years extra to it because of strike, you'll be in your late 40s when you graduate.

Good luck.

Go abroad and study law, come back in 3 years and go to the Law school in Nigeria. You can try UK universities.

If you have solid investment on ground, @ Age 40 going back to school is okay, but if you are a broke/poverty fellow, better give way from that plan, there is light at the end of tunnel, the big question is, are you going to see the end of that tunnel?

Studying law in a lawless country is a waste of resources
Re: Go Back To School At Age 40 by agaliboy: 1:55pm On Dec 05, 2023
It is doable. I travelled to the United States at age 42 for my Masters in 2021. All glory to God, I got the degree and have been working since July of this year here in the US.

Nothing is difficult when you set your mind on it, bro

I don't care, as long as it's real good money, it doesn't matter to be very honest...

That don't make me gay..
