China is more developed than the UK infrastructural wise.
Of course UK will have a higher standard of living because of what we have come to view standard of living due to their currency being at the apex while china has kept theirs lower in order to be the world's producer.

I've been to both...China (Xiamen, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hong Kong) and also the UK

China has more complex infrastructure than the UK, no doubt about that. But what percentage of Chinese have access to the basics as compared to the UK?
That's how I measure development.

99% of Chinese have access to the basics and their system kind of protect them quite well.

Mind you, the discussion was about Nigeria & Abuja vs Nairobi. Both come short of Nairobi in that regard - you brought the nation and disregard Altura & 88 condominium while fixing 4 Phantom towers; including Abuja pillar, do you think I'm here to waste words?

Yes UK has poverty and some problems but like Germany, standard of living is high on the average.
China is not yet termed a developed country overall but they are definitely getting there.

Go to north London , you will see african style of leaving immediately. Pls take away Germany from there. There is no single slum in germany. The only thing UK has over Germany is English language . Simple as it is .

Providing economic activity and funding housing programs to eradicate shacks are both achievable in Kenya, certainly not broke Ghana. I've seen health workers & teachers dwelling in slums because of close proximity to the working station. The thing here is slum can be eradicated. It's worth noting that Majority of slum dwellers in kibera can afford pretty much all basic needs, some stay in a luxurious form — there is even a fiber connection in the region, something that is lacking is some posh areas in Ghana. What might happen if the government decide to create modern units with close to a shack rent? Nothing! The worst will be degrading the modern apartments to a slum scraper ( if policies are not taken into consideration ) _ and perhaps the government involvement in maintenance and security checks wi be a win.

Eradicating kibera is doable but not easy!

yes .....the cost of wood, aluminum sheets or aluminum frames and sheets for a small 3 bedroom house can hit 8,000 dollars.

I spent less than 8,000 dollars to flow my first floor.

ADDIS ABABA is no doubt the most beautiful city in East Africa. The road network is superb

Ivory Coast really deserve some commendation for building these beautiful facilities for next year's AFCON.

They have raised the standards so high for countries that will host 2025 and 2027 AFCON tournaments

I know Morocco will live up to expectation but can't say same for the 3 Giants of the East.
Hope they won't fall our hands with poor show.

The Legon stadium is part of the facilities being prepared for the Games.

This government couldn't have sense to expand nor roof the stadium for the games it looks so basic and ordinary
