Invest in agriculture. Crop production wouldn't be a bad idea.

Agriculture is the only investment that can guarantee more than an 100% return on investment actually but one has to undergo some training before venturing into it .

Think of farming, farming of tree crops majorly. If I say farming, don't think of maize and cassava o. Not your regular farming. You can do the following, castor, mushroom, sunflower, jathropha, cricket, stevia. You don't even need 100k for an hectares of castor for example, Around 30k should go for seeds for an hectares and and hectares should give you almost half of tonnes after 3 months. Half of a tonne currently is around 1million naira. All these aren't something you can just see anywhere. they are scarce and very profitable. Only those who research, read, will know how profitable those stuffs are.
Also, you can learn export business, with just 50k there's something you can send overseas that you will gain like 450k. So, don't think those stuffs are money intensive. Only that most don't read, research.

Keep your money, don't do business with 1m. You have a 95% chance of failing.

Go and learn a skill (e.g., tailoring/fashion design, art, film making, photography, plumbing, painting, POP making, leather works i.e., shoe making, wallet making, belt, catering, graphics design with printing press, and so on). A skill will never fail you so long as you're good at what you do.

Use your intuition to decide which skill fits your cognitive abilities and interest. If you need my advice, I'll say consider graphics design and printing works or tailoring.

A million Naira business is for people with a job. You can't invest 1million in a business when you have no job. It will FAIL in 3 weeks.

In this Tinubu era someone is promising you money.

First have the money in your hand first before thinking about what to do with it.

So why are farmers poor?

Lonikit, you had better be certain of your mastery of whatever business it is before you put even one naira into it or else loss and debt will be your first and surnames.

My other suggestion is to start a business that requires little to no capital expenditure. Don't spend money on things you can't quickly liquidate and get your money back in the event of things going awry.

A good idea will be to trade something. Even if it's pure water bags or bread. All you need is a table at a good roadside location. Buy direct from producers and sell to motorists in the evenings as they return from work. You have to follow it up with a lot of legwork but that's what you need at the start of a business. When you have some change, you can start aiming for bigger things like a farm or shop.

Bro modern age farmers are not poor.It is a lucrative business both crop and livestock farming. It only require quite a lot of training and time. But if you put best practices in place,it will definitely yield a good RoI.
