Hello people,
It’s with great pains and utter disgust I decided to write this story here because of the shoddy treatment I have gone through owning a Haier Thermocool Product.

On December 29th 2020, I bought a Haier a brand New Thermocool Freezer from an Electronic Store in Uyo to help with my keep foods from getting spoilt.
I was issued a receipt and also the warranty and instruction booklet. On the body of the freezer, “3 years warranty on Cabinet and compressor” was clearly written and pasted and after much inquiries, the sales person told me it was rust proof treated against rust and that their product was tested to confirmation of what was written on the sticker.
A year later, 21st December 2021, I left Abuja for Uyo to spend the Yuletide with my family and noticed rust forming on the bottom side of the freezer. I immediately asked my wife what happened that the product started rusting and if it was leaking, she informed me that she also started noticing these rust formations on the cabinet suddenly and it has been spreading like that for the past 2 months.
I quickly called the electronic store sales representative who told me he is no longer working with the shop but gave me the manager’s contact which I contacted without success. I also sent messages to Haier Thermocool interactive customer care chat online giving them my name and my contact details (email and phone number) but received no response from them till date.
I summoned courage and decided to take the product to the electronic shop physically only to meet the manager who informed me that she has been trying to contact Haier Thermocool technical team in Aba but they’re on holiday and will resume on the 3rd week of January 2022 so I can drop the freezer with them. I took pictures and documentations of the product and also the warranty and receipt prior to leaving the shop. On the 3rd week of January 2022, I didn’t receive any call or response from either the sales manager or Haier Thermocool so I called the number on their website and someone responded that the Aba branch will handle the matter. The customer service personnel gave me the contact of the service technician which I recorded and called immediately.
He informed me that he was in Uyo on the 2nd week but didn’t go to that shop to check the defective product but will go there the next week. I waited for the following week and called him again and he informed me that he has seen the product and that a seal is not in place and that was what caused the leaks. He assured me he will get the seal sent to Uyo and as for the rust issues, it’s not their business and I have to keep using the product like that except I wish to take it to any local spray painter around to paint again.
I felt terribly insulted and cheated but decided to keep my cool. Till date 25th March, 2022, I have Not received any response from the technician although I spoke to the shop manager in Uyo she said no such replacement item has been sent to them and the technician has not visited their shop since January.
This delay has caused me loss of money and foodstuffs due to wastage and frequent cooking and warming of foods using my house gas cooker (gas is expensive).
I wish PZ Haier Thermocool to look into this issue and fix it because I am losing patience and also to inform them that their response to this will indicate if they still have a loyal customer or not.

Hi,
If you can, just write a mail to thermocool and copy the store you got it from that you will be taking legal actions against them because they are in breech of their acclaimed warranty clause.
Write or contact SERVICOM, SON and Consumer protection board.... Trust me they will attend to you immediately, that was how I got justice when I bought a bad nexus freezer.

and never don a single repair,still freezes and cools like day one. Bought a thermocool freezer from a dealer 2 months ago,I am still questioning if its truly a thermocool product. Freezes fast,but can't hold content in the freezer frozen for a day. I am not just mad but angry at how thermocool went from 100 to zero over the years.

New Product alert and then am done,I don't care it the name of the product is inscribed in Chinese,as far as it does what a freezer is suppose to do and then I am switching lanes.

me myself wondering why the so called almighty Haier thermocool refrigerator don't retain its ice in the freezer compartment for long,

it doesn't even last over night,
after 78hours of constant power supply,
Once power supply was down, it took just 4 hours everything in the freezer compartment is back to water! They promised 3days on their page!

I don't know if its a refrigerator or a cooling cupboard Lol ��

I for just buy chest freezer instead so I will know all I will be seeing is ice blocks that's better than this uselss expensive container!
They just put me on a long thing,
It's really disappointing

If you see the way some Nigerians use their freezers/fridges ehn, your heart will skip a beat.

About the rust problem. It is caused by power outages. When your Freezer starts to defrost, water pools up in the botton, and you're expected to remove the drain plug to let the water go into the drain compartment. Then remove the drain knob in the front side of the fridge, it's at the middle beside the thermostat control. Use a drain pipe to remove the excess water. It's when the excess water isn't removed asap, it tends to overflow and cause rust.
Normally, you don't have to do all these if you have constant light cos the freezer does the job automatically by evaporating the excess water.
I find Thermocool products more reliable (when you use them well).

Also, if you just bought a fridge or freezer and it was tilted many times while moving it, don't be in a hurry to turn it on. Let it sit for 24 hours at least so that the refrigerant can settle[/s].

All these talks does NOT change the fact that Thermocool's quality has dropped considerably, they're living based on past glory and other competitors have caught up or even surpassed them. FYI, the Hisense I bought after the nonsense thermocool debacle serves me and has not a single rust spot since I started using it.

You Nigerians sabi talk anyhow sha. Follow the tips i dropped and you won't have any issues.
I've seen Hisense and even LG freezers fail within few years of purchase too.
If you don't have steady light and your freezer gets flooded after each defrost and you don't remove the water, the excess water will flow into drain container when you remove drain plug that's inside the freezer and drain knob for water outlet will get lose overtime, causing water to leak under the fridge and cause rust.
Moisture on the outside of a freezer na rust magnet.

I did carry out a survey and alot of new thermocool had similar defects. Now you're gonna say it's still power supply that made the compressor fail in a little less than a year of purchase.

FYI, where I stayed in Uyo I enjoyed almost 19hr constant power supply and its not low voltage.[/s]
