Some people always say that Ekiti is the most Educated state and they have no evidence to back that up,just the bogus claim that every house in Ekiti has a Professor which has not been proven by any data

Ekiti is full of brilliant minds though.

For the interest of unity there's something that's not good to bring online, and who're are the people bringing this profile data.

Nothing wrong with this data. Its just like data on poverty rate. its online a over the world.

The data is helpful for development, investment and policy.

There are different ways to measure education. Most literate is one metric, and it measures the spread of basic education. The proportion of individuals with higher education is another way to measure it.

Now we may not have the stats but from observation, it seems reasonable to suggest that the Yorubas, and to some extent, the South Southerners, particularly of Edo and Delta, may be the leaders when it comes to higher education.

All available stats on literacy says you're wrong

Imo state has always had a high literacy rate regardless of the governor.

Literacy stats have nothing to do with higher education. A high rate of literacy means people are going to primary school and secondary school. How does that have any bearing on higher education, particularly up to the PhD level??

PhD isn't a measure of literacy. If it was, the basics for contesting for presidency in Nigeria won't be a WAEC degree, will it?

Even my late grandma spoke English. I'm sure you've never met an Igbo man who wasn't, at least, able to speak the English language but during my stay in Ogun Waterside, I was shocked to meet people who couldn't speak a word in English.

I don't even want to talk about the people in the north, they're on a whole different level

They should translate this level of literacy to industrialization, human capital development and all round development.

There is nowhere in any of my posts where I said a PhD is a measure of literacy. My point has always been that literacy itself is one way to measure how educated a group of people are and another way to measure is to check how deep they tend to go with their education.

It's a question of width versus depth and I'm not saying either one is necessarily better either. Rather, I'm saying that education is a big picture and one piece of the puzzle, such as literacy alone, may not tell the whole story.

Igbos can be more literate because they go to primary and secondary school at a high rate, which I personally observed from my time in the east, but that alone is not enough to say Igbos are the most educated because education has several dimensions.

Last time I checked, those vocations produce more wealthy people than white collar occupations.
