There's just something you don't understand yet.

The insurrectionists did not just try to stop the certification but they also wanted to achieve one thing - let the fake electors certificate be read in by the then Vice President Mike Pence.

It was a sprawling effort! There have been plea deals from fake electors and criminal trump lawyers who are cooperating with prosecutors and we even have direct testimonies of criminal trump calling county officials to either stop counting or "find missing votes".
