Very funny operation, not advanced at all. Am glad that innocent victims were rescued. An advanced ekelebe force, the way that an advanced SE needs to be like; should be wise in operation and not this unorganized. Am not this or that, but there are blue prints in organized countries on these kinds of situations, their current blueprints are way better, and capable of adjusting to better changes of operations, than the system the Nigerians are using. This kind of situation will depend if the criminals know they are around or not. In a Bush like this, is good that the criminals know the ekelebe forces are around, with the ekelebe being within sight, but a good possible distance away from concerned area or structure. You want the criminals to know that you are around, is not always or even frequently about destroying everything in sight. Is like throwing the baby out with the bath water strategy, which is an immature strategy. If the criminals know that your first instinct is not to finish them off, but arrest them, then the chances of keeping the hostages organized and alive will be high. You block off the circumference of the concerned area. If in a residential area, and can allow or not allow residents access after identification, then inform them of the ongoing operation and safety. Another layer, will test their limit of containment, until they can get close enough to concerned area of operation. Move with long leash dogs that can bark and let you know that you are getting close to a look out criminal. From that point of awareness, you can either set up encirclement/containment, depending on what happens, if he/she surrenders or fight, depending on distance from concerned area, you set your stance. Then, you can use robot with speakers and cameras to get close the concerned area, then let them know and do communication with them. If its a place you are already hiddenly observing, then you will be aware of their movements. And know when to get in the house. Is more to it. Is not about gathering unaselves and moving in an untrained militant way, just yelling and sh*oting everywhere, without thinking, just off assumptions of moving or presumed objects. There should be some techs involved too, like thermal observations. When the ekelebe is professional and accountable, it creates an ease in the society. Business booms, investors feel comfortable, citizens feel responsible and accountable. It helps in the sanity of the society. Happy new year. |

Bluntemperor:It's a show off. Where are the kidnappers? How many did they shoot or arrest? I believe the kidnappers gave the location after ransom was paid. |

Supremos:Stop.this.nonsense about Police risking their lives ... didn't they know the nature of the job before signing up? How can they move in and not capture a single kidnapper? Did they even have a plan? And we be wondering why is it the people they're after always run into the bushes. |

Kogi is one state that has been in the forefront of fighting kidnappers, though highway kidnapping has become rampant in the same state❗️❗️❗️ |

youngrichnigga:You are naive....you expect police who are actively engaging armed bandits to drop gun and attend to someone who was shot ![]() Even if bullet hits one policeman the rest would need to force bandits to retreat or all of them will get killed while saddled with rescuing |

Supremos:This is a very impressive feat coming from the police even without the use of drones. Glad all the kidnapped people were rescued. You don't know the important of freedom until you lose it to kidnappers. Massive kudos to all the police and vigilance personnel in the recorded rescue video. |

WhiteWood:Communication is essential during this kind of operation. Because they speak pidgin you don't want to value what they are trying to do there. The hostages have been traumatized and needs assurance that some people are out there to rescue them. The voice will also alert the kidnappers that they are on their trail and possibly abandon them in attempt to flee the scene. The police major aim is to get the people out alive and not engage in a battle that could be catastrophic. You should appreciate little effort and stop finding faults. |

adecz:Better to travel by air and to a lesser extent by rail to prevent such kidnapping scenarios on Kogi highways from occuring. Imagine being picked up like a tiny SNAIL by these kidnappers until you empty all your bank accounts. Kidnapped females are usually gang-raped by especially those Ibo kidnappers in the South East and the Fulani kidnappers in the North of Nigeria... Not funny at all! The death penalty is what I have always advocated for such heinous crimes. |

youngrichnigga:Kidnappers will just abandon their hostages like that? They were on their trail and they can't risk it anymore by keeping the hostage with them which will bring added liability in fleeing the scene. Appreciate efforts and stop capping. |
