MC Oluomo Steps Down As NURTW Chairman In Lagos by lekanolas: 9:47am On Jan 01
Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya, also known as MC Oluomo, has agreed to step down as Chairman of the Lagos Chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

Oluomo took the decision on Sunday after a meeting with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other key stakeholders at Government House, Alausa, Ikeja .

Dressed in a white native attire, Oluomo agreed to cede power to Mustapha Adekunle (Sego), the current Treasurer of the union in the state.

Sources at the meeting told our correspondent that Oluomo was prevailed upon to contest for the presidency of the union since one of the factional President of the union Tajudeen Agbede is currently bedridden.

Agbede is said to be down with stroke.

Aside Sanwo-Olu, others at the meeting were Sanwo- Olu's Chief of Staff, Tayo Ayinde, Mr Oluwaseun Osiyemi ,Commissioner for Transportation, Sola Giwa, Special Adviser to the governor on Transportation, Commissioner of Police in Lagos and the Director  of DSS in Lagos, Dapo Amao.

Others at the meeting were the current exco members of the union in the state

The Lagos State chapter has been in crisis after some leaders of the union in the state passed a vote of no confidence on Oluomo few days after he was re-elected for a second term a month ago.

It was gathered that Oluomo decided to step down after mounting pressure from most of his powerful friends and influential figures in Lagos including Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi.

Elegushi was said to have personally told Oluomo to step down or face imminent embarrassment from his loyalists.

It was further gathered that 80% of branch chairmen in Lagos have stopped remitting money to the union's state coffer, resulting in Oluomo's dwindling resources.

If MC is finding it difficult to put things in order in his state, how does he intend to do better on national scale? undecided

Lagos is a gangster state.

Nothing is done by elections or popular majority, everything is done mafia style. The God fathers simply tell you do it this way and that's it, you can never have a choice. That's a Mafiya State right there. Similar thing is happening in my Delta State, although not at the scale of Lagos.

You must join or belong to a clique in Lagos else nothing for you.

If MC really step down, very soon someone too will depose Sego...

Dey play. Oluomo can never resign, that's his source of wealth. The only person that can make Oluomo resign is Tinubu. And mind you, if such happen, another opportunity is waiting for him in Abuja.

Sego is Seyi Tinubu's candidate and they are very close. So case close so far as Sanwo was involved it means Tinubu gave them the go ahead to ask for Mc's Resignation. Codedly they prefer Sego possible because he seems loyal and not loud like Mc Oluomo

Go and read the news online. Oluomo is being positioned to take over as national chairman of NURTW. I just got the news now. Relegate Oluomo at ur own peril.

It is under this Bulaba regime that I got to realize that Hausa people are really a force in this country! You see Hausa people ba...if they mean you...they mean you!

Some touts from Lagos invaded Abuja just after Tinubu took over power abd tried to impose themselves on the administration of the NURTW in Abuja but it failed woefully.

All those codeine-drinking Hausa touts no gree o. It was a brief battle even with the involvement of law enforcement agents which took sides with the Yoruba faction but in the end, the arewas prevailed.

No play with Hausa people o
