President Tinubu can immediately improve the economic conditions of most Nigerians and make the Naira grow by issuing an Executive Order authorising the Nigerian Communications Commission to ban sports betting apps from the App Store of any GSM Internet Service Provider in Nigeria and revoking the licenses of any physical sports betting operators in Nigeria. It makes better sense than Buhari's draconian #TwitterBan.

Reno Omokri on his Facebook page wrote 'There is such an epidemic of gambling in Nigeria and it is destroying Nigerian youths. $1 billion is spent on gambling daily in Nigeria, according to the National Lottery Trust Fund. Please fact-check me. The average Nigerian spends $15 daily on sports betting and other types of gambling, with the vast majority of that amount leaving our economy and going to places like Russia, South Africa, and Europe. The Naira can never sustain its rally under such circumstances.

This is scary. How much is our GDP that we are pissing it away like that? More money is leaving Nigeria through gambling than is coming in. Buhari was thoroughly useless in that he was an anti-intellectual who was led by the nose by his former recharge card seller turned overnight billionaire nephew, Tunde Sabiu. But Tinubu is an accountant. He must know that this parasitic economic sabotage will destroy Nigeria if left unchecked.

A lot of the petty crime in Nigeria is caused by youths seeking money, by any means, to fund their gambling habit. It would be irresponsible for a first-class accountant like Tinubu not to act on such a matter as threatening to our national security as this gambling epidemic.

Just imagine millions of able-bodied youths waking up daily not to do any productive work but to waste away their lives online and offline at sports betting shops. And we have a government in place led by a first-class graduate in economics?'

I agree with Reno Omokri, not only from the financial standpoint, but also because:

Gambling is the child of avarice, the brother of iniquity, and the father of mischief.

A lot of indisciplined people borrow & steal to fund this ungodly addiction & attempt to acquire wealth.

1 Timothy 6:9-10, makes it abundantly clear:

“Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs”.

Majority of the major betting companies are owned by Nigerians.

They plunge people into poverty and still don't want them to get little hope. Poverty is the main cause of gambling...and gambling also has a way of giving hope to the poor even if the hope is a false one

There reports that most Nigerians don't make up to $1 per day and that is why Nigeria is seen as the poverty capital of the world.

Reno is here telling us an average Nigerian spend a whopping $15 daily on betting.

How did he come up with this conclusion?
Is Reno a punter?

Most betting companies in Nigeria are owned by Nigerians, why is he lamenting about capital flight through betting?

FG also make a lot of money from these betting companies.

Reno is a low budget attention seeker.

this Reno is unreasonable, what does sports betting got to do with the value of naira?the value of a countries currency increases when there is much demand for the countries currency for transactions world wide,as a result of the increase in demand value is gained because people would be willing to trade more to have enough naira for Nigerian transactions, similar to what happened to bitcoin, bitcoin value only increased when someone paid a certain amount of dollars to purchase a certain amount of bitcoin to make purchases at a certain location.lets begin by talking about our taurism sector, what valuable things do we make or places do we own? how many tourists visit Nigeria in a month?then do a comparison to places like Dubai, abhudabi and Kuwait?

only our tourism sector can restore the naira ,also we would need to improve our technological sectors, lets focus on our solid minerals and create machine parts highly in demand for making vehicles and computers, since we have abundant minerals we are able to make superior quality of those parts and they could be very affordable since we dont buy the minerals or raw materials for marking them. reno blocked me on Facebook and Twitter,to date i cant leave comments on his post because i show him pepper lol.our problem is we have not yet solved the problem with security therefore tourism sector has been dead which has drastically affected the countries reputation over the years, leading to economic stagnation.when taurists come and go they return with investors or become investors in a countries potential, but Nigeria is currently a bad venture for taurists.truth be told.thats what is affecting the naira, there is low demand leading to low value.

yes sports betting or gambling is risky but if the youths have better opportunities im sure they would gladly invest in shares.
