Kelechi Nwogu sponsored the bill

Public Statement: Protecting Players’ Rights and Ensuring Compliance in the Betting Industry, this motion is to protect the players.

Dear fellow Nigerians,

I want to address recent misconceptions surrounding my motion regarding betting companies. Contrary to media reports, the motion does not aim to ban sport betting. Its purpose is to protect players’ rights and ensure compliance with existing regulations. I am committed to fostering responsible gambling and creating a fair and transparent industry. Let’s rely on accurate information and work together for the betterment of Nigeria. This motion is more or less protecting the right of players from being rift - off from by betting

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Rep. Kelechi Nwogu MHR, DSSRS
Etche/Omuma Federal constituency

Force all betting companies to send statements of accounts to all their customers every month

The statement will contain their stake, their winnings and their profit/loss

Same thing must be done at the end of every year

When people see the aggregate of what they are loosing to betting, most will naturally start shunning betting

People are equally addicted to:

Porn
Social media
Bread
Alcohol
Reality shows
TV
Movies
Etc...

Will they ban these ones too?!!

Instead of banning something because certain people are addicted to it, why not create rehab and anti-addiction programs to get them off it?!!

When you forcefully remove one addiction, another form will take its place. It's just common sense.
