Everywhere in Nigeria is a soft target. Any shooter enters any church or mosque today na when his bullet finish h go stop

Na so less than 40 cultists enter OAU in 1999 and school of over 30K mostly adults dey helpless

Everywhere is a soft target and yet you people are recording more gun deaths per capita compared to Nigeria. This is despite the low incentive to commit crime in the US.

The solution to one problem is not bringing another problem.

Nigerian Governors are hypocritical thieves, in varying degrees. Like Buhari, Tinubu hasn't failed to pay FAAC so far.

Why should we be scrutinising Tinubu's 7 months in office but not holding the (newly-elected) Governors to the same standards? What have Fubara, Umo Eno, Sheriff, and other Niger-Delta Governors done in these 7 months too given the relatively large amounts they collect?

Those from this geopolitical area are coincidentally the most visible critics of Tinubu on this thread but I have never seen them hold their respective state governors to the same standard. It's the same for most of the citizenry - mostly depicting governors as powerless.
Can we start dissecting state government expenditures like we do to the FG too?

I do that but would increase the frequency. Let's do more. Our Governors are accusatory thieves.

.....FAAC they are collecting under PBAT doubles what they collected under PMB. Rice worth ₦100m was approved for each member of House of Representatives, while Rice of ₦200m worth was approved for the Senators for their Constituents.

How many of these Lawmakers shared it to the needies in their Constituencies? Most of it were distributed to their loyal supporters and party members.

Naija eh!

Who told you there are more gun deaths in US compared to Nigeria? US records 43k deaths from guns last year in 300m. How many do you think happened in Nigeria with onethird of the population. This weekend wey just dey start, it's sure some herdsmen, some farmers and many innocent travelers are collecting their own bullets

Guns are not legal in Nigeria yet the citizens collect on a daily basis. Even 18yr old University cultists are packing and dishing out deaths by the dozen.

Did you go outside Lagos? When I visited Ibadan there were some roads that I felt my driver should just stop and not damage the rental car. Yet people drive it daily

As bad as Lagos is, it's still the best Nigeria has to offer the less said about interior states the better

BTW how many young Obainos should we be expecting all over Nigeria towards October.

Even if they put Peter Obi in all 36 states… that country can’t develop in another 100years. grin
Life is hard in naija abeg…. airport staff want bribe, police want bribe… Bad roads choke in a whole Lagos, Keke, bike and danfo na just nuisance.

The problem is not even just the government but the people as well.

I hope it gets better 🤦🏽‍♂️

My wife bought one sweet agbalumo(Udara) yesterday. On my way back from work, I bought from the same woman only for me to get home and madam told me she sold 4 for 500 naira to her just last night. Meanwhile, this woman sold 3 for 500 naira to me. Maybe because I was driving. She quickly took advantage. I went back immediately to collect the remaining one.

Everyone is taking advantage of every other person.

The government is a reflection of each and everyone of us.

Villagers flee as bandits overwhelm Amotekun in Ondo State.

https://www.nairaland.com/7960371/villagers-flee-bandits-overwhelm-amotekun

The Amotekun was funded by the state governor; immediately his health challenges become too complicated, it became obvious all security votes were pocketed.
The result? The state security architecture wasn't oiled and maintained.

See why state and LG security votes have to be openly dissected? Governors, like the FG, have important roles to play in ensuring security.
But the Governors who got a perpetual injunction preventing public inquisition into how they use these monies are mostly absolved of blame by the same citizens are meant to be protected.

Jonathan! Buhari! Tinubu! But don't hold your Governor to the same demands openly.

So you can't see the contradiction in your post. Who made life hard in Nigeria if not the government? Who is responsible for not maintaining roads? To make matters worst you turned around and said if good governance is placed in all 36states the country won't develop in 100years lol.

Taking advantage of people happens everywhere in the world. It's nothing peculiar to Nigeria. It's the duty of the government to create an environment that doesn't enable it. The people in America are not morally better than the ones In Nigeria.

The easiest job in Nigeria is state governor

All benefit zero responsibility

Benue governor no pay salary for 2yrs but once he blames Buhari every problem solved.

So before Amotekun what were they using that security votes money to do?

If Akeredolu too instead of funding Amotekun he is just going on TV and newspapers to point hand to Abuja everytime, the populace will still believe him

The first step is it made the financial report publicly available. I'd applaud that part since almost all states, including Lagos, kicked against the FOI bill Jonathan initiated.

Digging deep is how I found out my state government had sold 90% shares of our state brewery quietly in 2021.

Let's keep exposing state governments. Hopefully, it'd catch on.
