BREAKING: Tinubu summons Interior Minister Tunji-Ojo
President Bola Tinubu has summoned the minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo to the Presidential Villa.

The summon follows the controversy that has hitched the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, and the award of a consultancy contract to the tune of N438 million, for the National Social Register to New Planet Projects Ltd, a company he is a beneficial owner.

1. At the very least, the contract should be voided.

2. All monies collected under the contract so far should be returned to the Federal government.

3. If the minister complies with 2 & 3 above, he should then be demoted to a Minister of State in another ministry.

But, in any other country, a person securing a contract from a government in which he is a serving Minister is liable to be sacked immediately. No ifs or buts.

The man's poor excuse of only being a shareholder and not a director of the company is risible.

It is corruption. Full stop. He should go.

That's permitting serious corruption. You can't have different rules for different people.

That said, the fact he has been invited to Aso Rock may be a sign that they don't want to sack him. They may find a soft landing for him.

I say that because the other women were not invited to Aso Rock. Ms Edu went on her own accord but was denied access to the President.

I will be quit commendable if Tinubu can secure the conviction of those ministers that have embezzled so much under his watch and those of the Buhari's regime.
Under Buharis government, it was a free for all looting.
He should also revisit the Gandollar issue.

Well if the details we know so far are correct, the contract is unlawful. If it is unlawful, it is void ab initio.

As to returning the money, that's the minimum condition for him retaining a role in the government.

What are the rules? That's basic. Conflict of interest rule for a start.

It is startling that you think a minister securing a contract from the government he is serving in is acceptable.

This is corruption in any way you look at it.

It seems the young ministers under Tinubu's administration don't have the practical knowledge of siphoning public funds. They should learn from their seniors so that their primary aim which is reckless looting could be perfectly achieved.

Even if the young ones take over the political affairs of our nation, I doubt if there could be a significant change. Everyone has a mentality and culture of stealing public funds directly or indirectly when it comes to his turn.
The present leaders, prospective leaders and majority of the followers are all corrupt.
