The best way to fight corruption is to put measures in place to prevent it. Mr. President should have declared his assets, the ministers and other public officers would have declared theirs too. This may have prevented Bosun and Betta from awarding contract to themselves through this inexperienced format. Put structures in place that will fight corruption............the same shell that will behave appropriately in other places is the same shell that will connive with naija officials to steal crude oil in Nigeria.

Once there is a cloak of secrecy in any space, people will take see it as a shield and try to do bad things. Tinubu should declare his asset, even if na lie e wan lie, make e even pretend, so the other thieves working with him wont be encouraged to be cornering contract for themselves because they feel no one is looking

How do you void a contract that has been signed off as completed and payments successfully made to the consultants?
Money has been chopped/consumed already, how will he cough it out if not to steal another one?
If you go check, all those companies that got all those millions are all in paper with no physical address, so called briefcase busineses.
Which staff was employed to physically verify the social register? Did you personally meet any of their staff come to your residence?
These people are simply thiefs! Don't you wonder how people can afford to buy all those properties you see advertised in lekki? Someone will pay 700m for a 4 bed terrace house. Don't you wonder how they can afford to buy cars of 100,150, 200m? People with no history of work. Even if you are a bank manager, there is no way you can buy a 300m naira house. These people will just do magomago. Where will this tunji ojo man have ever seen 400m in all his working life for goodness sake?
Go to Canada, UK, US, you see kids in university paying school fees, living large, when you ask, you hear their parents are Nigerian government officials! Highrise hotel apartments in carnery waff, filled up with Nigerian kids, lowest daily rent 250-500 pounds!

My annoyance is that a southern president always try as much as possible to get the country working in the midst of looting. But a northerner becomes the president, they loot the country blind without mercy and nobody does anything about it.

Tinibu needs to use sense to deal with this.. these are his best performing ministers so far... He should check on the silent ministers more..

Those ones are likely committing atrocities underground and are likely more experienced in covering their tracks. It's a sorry case because I don't know how Nigeria will develop if everyone is out just for their own share. No one cares about the country, besides a few.

Even if this current administration is so corrupt as the media makes us believe I have noticed that the amount of figures the public office holders now loot is reducing with drastic measures, before now we used to here of some hundreds of billions illegally diverted by political elites now we can see even the millions they steal now really cause so much troubles for them that others will have to seat tight, God bless Jaggy.

Very simple, he should divest his shareholding and pay back any dividends he received after that contract. This one is much less clear cut that pretty Betta
In a proper setting, yes.
But if you understand how things work in naija, you will know that that company is most likely just a briefcase company with no staff, no physical office. All those ones of divesting interest is all cock and bull story, or at best paper work. That man fully owns the company, controls the accounts or at most uses a proxy.
I knew someone some time back, his oga was a special adviser during the past administration in one of the SW states. All his money, was placed in the accounts of this my guy ie my guys registered on paper company. All his property in Nigeria, under my guys name. In just 1 account back then, there was excess of 1.5b! Just 1 account, this was 2-3 years ago.

I think it has become imperative that I call Tinubu so we can dialogue as far as this issue on ground.

The minister of interior should be cautioned and that's all..

I will ensure he doesn't get sacked from office.

1. At the very least, the contract should be voided.

2. All monies collected under the contract so far should be returned to the Federal government.

3. If the minister complies with 2 & 3 above, he should then be demoted to a Minister of State in another ministry.

But, in any other country, a person securing a contract from a government in which he is a serving Minister is liable to be sacked immediately. No ifs or buts.

The man's poor excuse of only being a shareholder and not a director of the company is risible.

It is corruption. Full stop. He should go.

he is not serving as the minister of humanitarian affairs.

For those asking if Tinubu is still in-charge, yes he is.

Yuur memory will not fade my Nigga. This is similar to Nnaji case the only difference is that Nnaji company was bidding for "contract" in the ministry he was heading.

Bullshit

~ HE CO-FOUNDED the company together with HIS WIFE.

~ HE resigned from DIRECTORSHIP in 2019 when he became a member of House of Representatives.

~ HE is still a SHAREHOLDER.

~ His WIFE is currently a DIRECTOR and joint OWNER of the firm.

Tunji-Ojo is a goner if President Bola Tinubu is serious about fighting corruption.

Yes, that was how Madi Sambo single handedly destroyed Nigerians electricity completely, sold Nepa to politicians who have no clue what electricity is. But this is Nigeria one day you will Sambo running for president

Nothing emotional here.

What are the rules? That's basic. Conflict of interest rule for a start.

It is startling that you think a minister securing a contract from the government he is serving in is acceptable.

This is corruption in any way you look at it.

Can this happen in the UK, US, or anywhere in Europe, Singapore etc Absolutely not.

Foreign observers and potential investors will read news like this and just shake their heads in disgust at the never ending corruption in this country.

Ok na. Continue to support atrocious behaviour.

It is not illegal, even in the countries you mentioned. There are conditions that have to be met, e.g declaration and recusal, procurement guidelines, etc. Once they are met, there is no issue.
