Obi received numerous awards during his time as governor. That should give you an indication of how he performed. How can you take the word of someone that does not like him as the gospel truth? DeOTR: |

You are not serious. Commend a good policy for once. Pandora stole Anambra money and put it in Panama, a tax haven . Yet he is your hero. Pandora also put Anambra money in Fidelity where he is a shareholder, yet, he is the best thing after slice bread. Be sincere for once |

DMerciful:How did you come to the conclusion that he doesn't like him? Let's even assume he doesn't like him, does that make him any less an authority on matters of Anambra? This is a state governor that has access to privileged information about the state more than you and I. Well, I don't take awards given to politicians seriously. All governors in Nigeria at a point in time during their tenure have received various awards. That's not an indication of performance. It's feelers during your time that'll use to judge. |

DamnnNiggarr: Peter Obi the media personality. Deceiving those who needs to be deceived. After collecting your own share of the Tinubu largesse in order to file a fraudulent election Petition to the Tribunal you're now apparently critical of the Tinubu government. Nonsense. Tinubu has to recoup his investments times 10 he gave you and many other Politicians in his quest for power. So he is going to continue to steal and borrow and steal till Nigeria implodes. Next time you fight for your mandate instead of selling it to the highest bidder. |

I don't want to engage anyone here but the question I'm asking is this what Mr Obi said is it truth is he making any sense please people let's leave our parties affiliation aside if Nigeria work it's works for all of us if it fails all of us bears it that Nigerian youths are trooping out of the country shows that Nigeria is at the peak of failing |

DMerciful:Soludo has not spent half of the time Obi spent in office yet. As for the performance, at least, I've not a thread here where Anambra have wondered what exactly Soludo is doing, as it was the case of Obi. If people objectively attested to the fact that Obi was performing poorly during his tenure, I wouldn't know why someone would disagree a decade later and try to push a different narrative. |

DMerciful:We may never find if he's the best or not. My point is, he didn't do well in his last stint in Government as evident, even on Nairaland. Let's just imagine for a second that Obi is the President. What would he have done differently? 1. Maybe he wouldn't have removed subsidy on his first day in office, and put things in order before doing that, but he may never be able to put anything in considering the fact that Nigeria is broke. He would have removed it eventually, if he hopes to achieve anything at all. You don't expect a different outcome in terms of prices of goods and services, do you? You don't know Nigerians if you do. 2. The President can't cut for other arms of government. We need specific laws that'll specify the exact percentage beyond which no public servants can earn above the minimum wage. We don't need a patch-patch approach that would last the maximum of 8 years. |

One thread on nairaland is your yardstick for measuring s governor that clear records showed he delivered. I'm tired of this back and forth. Tinubu already stole the mandate and he is there now, why are you focusing on Obi? DeOTR: |
Re: Debt And Waste As Economic Policy – Peter Obi by DeOTR: 11:09am On Jan 11 |
DMerciful:I'm not judging Obi or supporting Tinubu. What I'm saying is, none of these people are perfect and I don't see how anyone of them would have anything differently better. It's OK to criticize but we should not assume we have all the information and accuse others for not acting the way we expected. I can only agree with Obi on wastage in public service, but not on debt. The country is already in mess and unless you're in the position, you won't know the extent. |

Abagworo: Cc.Abagworo Guy, why are you so dishonest. Peter Obi remained the best governor to lead any Nigerian state. Peter Obi didn't borrow when he was the governor yet left over 75 billion in stock and bonds. The problem you have with Ndi Anambra is eating deep into your soul. Your jealousy is palpable and I love it. 1 Like |
