Did I touch a never grin? He stated facts and the truth is bitter in your mouth for reasons best known to you.

An example of a bigotry and supremacist mindset below. This clearly shows the difference between a fact and a fallacy👇

Nice to know where we stand with you and the fool you're speaking up for! You're making no pretence about your supremacist leanings and dick-measuring agenda! Nice one! wink

Can you provide a link to the newspaper report on this assertion you attribute to Dr Ekwueme?

Quit being a smartass! I know what the word lockdown means! I wanted to know why he feels the Yoruba have to have everything in 'one Nigeria' on 'lockdown' for the Yoruba! The import of that supremacist mindset is that he and his bigoted ilk see everyone else as fools who exist just to be used to further Yoruba hegemonic interests!

Would it now be out of place to brand him and the OP as Yoruba supremacists and bigots? Can you now see the intent for creating this thread is for nothing more than dick-measuring?

Some of you just like to use words you don't understand, thinking it demonizes and malign others you dislike or feel inferior to, whereas you only end up describing yourself.

Below is the meaning of hegemony. Pray tell us those that are personification of it than the two most radical and extremist ethnic group of Nigeria today, I.e the Igbos and the Fulani, who wish to usurp, by force or stealthy and hostile economic takeover, the land and asset of others.

Yorubas are happy with their culture, boundary and themselves. We are a humble people who are not and have never been usurper or covetous land grabbers let alone be interested in foisting our culture, religion or way of life on anyone. That is you lot and the Fulanis.

That Yorubas are incidentally great and dominate is an exponent of their talent and natural endowment as a people not any half-baked notion of hegemonistic nature your sort espouse out of jealousy and envy of us that precipitates inferiority complex in you and your kinsmen.

You should tell us when Yorubas, according to what is shown below, have ever sought dominance, influence or authority over others. Nonsense.

I think cos of Lagos, which gives Yoruba people a big advantage, just like USA leads the world cos of USA advantage. Other people from other regions should try and remove eye from Lagos and develop a Lagos in their own region to be able to compete fairly. Igbos and Benins are the only ones trying.

The first woman to drive car in naija, Fela mama...didnt drive her car in lagos.

Yoruba is one of the most gender-inclusive tribe in Nigeria...we dont have laws that set our women to fail.

No hefty bride price
willingness to accept them back when they face abuse in marriage
Equal share of their father's property
Traditional roles in rulership from pre historic times (Iyalode, Iyaloja) etc
Females can own land and do whatever they lie with it
Females dominate markets in yoruba land unlike other tribes where na men dey run market

So we have bn setting up our women for success since way back and what u see is just many generations of women running miles without any barrier

Yoruba women dey para these days.

—In Fintech industry, na them dey lead.

—In Music industry, na them dey on top.

—In movie industry, na them dey lead.

—At CEO level in all strata, na them dey lead.

—In wealth and enterprise, na them dey still lead.

I will still research the reason for this. Maybe it’s the culture that gave men and women equal right in Yorubaland so both men and women grew together at the same pace.

The men are leading other sectors.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu is an example grin

I am also as rich as Dangote, I just don’t like making noise.

Infact my name was initially on the richest list and I told them to remove it because I don’t like noise.

I saw Dangote salary and it’s just a token compared to mine.

Defeatist mindset? I doubt most Yoruba women are as intelligent as I am. The only people that ever surpassed me were Igbo and very very few at that.

You better stop beating your chest anyhow. Your babies will need it in the future.

A very childish attempt to cover an inferiority complex with asinine braggadocio....

Two of the CEO, infact two of them leading two of the biggest banks in Nigeria are Igbo...

The GT Bank CEO is an Igbo lady who married a Yoruba man while that of the Fidelity is Igbo through and through...

So what crap are yiou talking about?

What are you driving at? Are you saying they are being favored because they live in Lagos? (Most, if not all of them are not even indigenous to Lagos)
Is Lagos no longer a cosmopolitan state and a level-play ground for everyone? What inspired this your funny excuse? grin They all got where they are as a result of dedication, luck and of course, grace and you will hardly see them brag about it unlike the ndi biafra

You have a point about Lagos but why is Lagos favoring only Yoruba women? You have other tribe women in Lagos and they all have equal right in private enterprise and personal excellence but yet they couldn’t overshadow Yoruba women.

However, that is not the main reason because even before Lagos was this big, Yoruba women have always dominated major sectors and markets. Thats why when you go about reading about first in any field, they are usually Yoruba women.

it is because they are more ambitious and well learned than their men.

It's all about downplaying the achievements of others once they feel their ego is being deflated. Not different from those that day someone made a first class because they went to a state university instead of federal.

Me that have my women constituting majorly 70% of most achievement in all strata ranging from movie, music, fintech, CEO, business, Technology, and etc. OR you that your women are just part of the numbers.

Tribalist spotted. I am sure you actually meant the reverse.

Small time now, you would say you are richer than these CEOs or the likes of Alakija.
What she is trying to tell you is that tribalism played huge role in the domination of these sectors. This is not to belittle or underrate their immense talent.

How? You lots just make statement with zero facts to back it up. When you can't measure up to someone, the next thing is to downplay their achievements.. That's evil.

Exactly. He/she made it look like the women are successful as a result of an unfair advantage being afforded them by the Lagos state government for being Yorubas. grin Frankly speaking and at this rate, it is safe to say that low self esteem has really eaten up these easterners because why would a sane person try to play down other people’s achievements, making it look like they never merited it?
