In case you mistakenly transferred Money to the wrong account and the account refused to refund your money, the owner blocked you,
or you are duped through your bank account and then later realize that you have been scammed.
Or is it a mistake on your part? And the receiving bank is not cooperating...

FOR HOW TO RETRIEVE YOUR MONEY AFTER YOUR WRONG TRANSFER -
Please read this carefully and share.

Many people don't always know what to do, so today am sharing with you things you'll do when you realize the person you paid for a service or goods is avoiding you:

1. Write out the Full name and account number of the page or person.

2. Go to the last notification your bank sent you after you made the payment (via mobile app or text) and copy out the "TRANSACTION ID NUMBER".

3. Go to any branch of the scam artist's bank (the bank you transferred to), and ask to see the CUSTOMER SERVICE in charge of FRAUD.

While you are there, send an email to SCAMMER'S BANK or the bank you wrongly paid to and copy CBN FRAUD DESK (anticorruptionunit@cbn.gov.ng) and also cpd@cbn.gov.ng
& contactcbn@cbn.gov.ng, this will ginger the bank to take it up fast.

What should you expect from this? The culprit/suspect's account will be PLACED ON HOLD. His BVN will be blocked permanently. No account will ever be opened nor will he be able to transact banking business in that name until he clears himself with the bank.

Meaning he/she cannot transfer or withdraw until they visits the bank, and when they do, the bank will contact the police, and the suspect when proven guilty will sign a waiver allowing the bank to refund your money.

Endeavor to Share with Friends and Family because you never can tell who it might help.

I was advised to do this when I was duped in 2021. I went to Zenith bank (the fraudster’s bank) and did all that I was asked to do, including writing a letter stating all the details with evidence, sending the mail to CBN (just so you know, the mail will not be delivered). I followed up for quite a while and the BM kept telling me they’ve not gotten a response from the fraudster’s branch. I asked if his account has been blocked/frozen as promised but was told they can’t do that until investigations have been concluded. The money was 290k but I got the impression from the bank officials that it wasn’t a big deal and I should just write it off.
I got tired and gave up.

I’d like to know if anyone has ever been successful in recovering their money through this avenue.

you made a mistake by going to his bank. You suppose to log the complain as a fraudulent transaction at your bank. Your bank will be the one to fight. They send a mail for blockage of funds to zenith. The BVN linked to various accounts will be traced. NIBBS will be notified. Once his funds are blocked. They will begin investigation.

Zenith and fcmb banks are something else. As if they indulge bad behaviour

I didn’t make a mistake. I was advised to notify his bank. I got this advice from a number of bankers. Also, when I was at Zenith bank, they didn’t ask me to make the complaint to my bank.

You’re probably right, but I didn’t think about that.
I honestly didn’t think i would be getting my money back, I only went to the bank because it shares a fence with my office.

I can't remember the last time I went to a physical bank to lay a complain. I use Twitter and get my issues resolved swiftly.

Nigerian banks don't like to be tagged on Twitter(X) for the wrong reasons. They quickly get into action to resolve your issues. Tag the banks involved and CBN and drop your details including your phone number. Either they send you a dm or they call you directly.

Try out this method.

Transfer of service between inter federal agencies, your grade level 14 will be maintained on same grade but in some few cases, the agency you intend to go will reduce 1 grade for you because you lack their own experience. Use erroneous bank transfer. Go n collect a court order for such transactions.
I retrieved up to 2m fr someone last month. Bear it in mind dat court will collect upto 8% of d transactions.
