Simply put,
If ony diesel and kerosene is produced, then only the atmospheric distillation part of the refinery is working. Even at that, there is no way you can produce diesel and kerosene without producing petrol and LPG.

The real koko is that the petrol from atmospheric distillation is in low octane form called naptha or straight run gasoline. They need to run it through a reformer, and add benzene to make it suitable for modern cars. So for now, they will be storing it, or exporting it to other refineries.


But truth be told, an atmospheric refinery is no different from all those Bush refineries in the Niger Delta. The critical parts of the refinery are not yet functional.

What is the volume of diesel and aviation fuel combined together that are being imported into the country compared to petrol alone? When was the last time our economy was grounded because of the non availability of either diesel or kerosene? You're not serious at all

Someone explained it in the other thread that it's simply because in the distillation process itself,engine oil,diesel,kerosene need first be produced before the lighter oils of petrol and gas.

Majority of science students has forgotten the process of fractional distillation.
How would they produce diesel before petrol? Do they want to use reverse distillation?

If talks like this are said out of sincere mind honestly I would concur but it always out of hate for dangote and Nigeria.

You might have said it out of love for Nigerians and Dangote. It doesn't make any difference from our politicians who tell us what we want to hear to make us stay calm till we finally get hit by reality. I wish Nigeria well and hope the Dangote refinery reduces the prices of fuel eventually.
