But this is the state of the 'thing' itself and governor is a reverend.
The governor is a puppet. APCs Islamists are the ones pulling his strings behind the scenes.

Okay, but when you want to work for that company that says you should come for interview with suit, tie and low cut hair, would you say that?

Or would you advise someone with long attachment or dreadlocks to go to their new job in a factory where their hair may get caught in the machinery?

But yknow hypocrisy cheesy

Well to one side it looks sensible but then to another side it’s quite senseless.

I understand mini skirt but dread lock is just hair. I don’t see how it equate to having criminal mindset. Yes you see alot of pointer in that directions. That’s because it’s just a trend for bad guys. But it is not what actually make them the bad guys

Yes!

They do allow mini skirts in Covenant at acceptable length. Not at short lengths that casually exposes thighs are bum!

Why do you think public universities have become headquarters for yahoo fraudsters, cultist and hook-up? Its because morales and ethics don't count there! Yo could get away with 1001 things in public schools but wont try such in Covenant. They are disciplined for excellence. They know the consequences for their actions are grave and very cautious when they try to deviate. Unlike public schools, nothing happen.
so mini skirt snd armless is the cause of yahoo in public schools or what?

Did I say permit yahoo or any of such criminal practices?

I'm talking about dress code.. Yahoo can be done by anybody irrespective or how they dress and it is a crime. infact yahoo began from the days of yahoo messenger in the 90's and early 2000 but only got popular now because of the level of cash out and recklessness.

I expect them to tell the lecturers to improve on how they lecturer and stop students paying for handouts and all other stupid academic practices not mini skirt and armless.

that company is either a private or a public company and the school is not a place to work its a place to study, everyone must not dress like born again Christian or deeper life member before you say they are decent, what has dread hair got to do with disturbing or distracting learning? Of the hairdo of a girl? Or a mini skirt... Oh no they must dress like a nun right.. Telling them to dress decently would have been ok enough not all this archaic codes.

OK, Let's agree there's a positive correlation with conservative dressing and discipline in Nigeria. What will you say about colleges in the US where anyone wears whatever they're comfortable with, yet still are excellent?

Nothing is wrong with all that. Its just the culture in Nigeria that condemns it. Generally whenever a culture disgusts sth, well-behaved people tend to shy away from that stuff so they can be seen in a good light. It doesn't still mean that its bad or causes people to be bad people.

Security is not the job of a university

And it is not hypocrisy. The way you young people use that word is getting funny.

The university is getting you for tomorrow when you would be looking for job and that is when they would be judging you on dress and hair.

Even when you get the job, dress codes dey. And in some instances like working in a factory, it is essential for your safety
That particular rule is a government policy as such am asking the government to setup a policy that is to focus more on securing lives of those that keep all these rule yet are killed and their properties destroyed

Acting trying and practices crazy?.
From
unclothedness

Yes, and the university, as far as I know, is not the government.

The dress code is restrictive, I know, but as you should know, when you graduate, you will seek for jobs in places that have dress codes, formal and informal. And you will have to abide by them every day. The university is preparing you for that tomorrow.

Indecent dressing is a distraction which is well known to everyone.

From the classroom, to the corporate world and religious houses, indecent dressing has always been condemned, how much more students who are gunning for excellence. The family values has been bastardized and why students even have the effrontery to dress like such.

Girls wear skirts and armless, and me and you know the limits we talking about. A mini-skirt is different from a mini skirt. You can wear armless to look decent, and same time wear it to look like a prostitutes'. Those are the limits I am talking about.

I dont understand your statement. All those things can be do done OUTSIDE SCHOOL. School is for learning. By the way, you hardly see the most brilliant people who are strictly interested in studying dress that way, EVEN IN UNIVERSITIES IN ADVANCED COUNTRIES. Think of people like Albert einstein or even someone like Ngozi Okonjo Iweala.

School is NOT FOR SLAYING. Its expected to breed disciplined individuals that will positively influence the world.

Mind you, BSU is one of the schools notorious for cultism and prostitution.

Do every student in the US graduate with excellent grades? They also have same set of hooligans we have in our Nigerian universities. And when you bring in that same point to the general table, will you say American kids have morals and ethics? The freedom system churns out the worst set of humans! Talk about the height of societal ills and menace been perpetrated by youths, Nigerian youths are learners!

Same indiscipline got them there.

Look, let's leave religion out of it, okay, son?

I work for a private firm owned by someone who is not a born again christian, yet there is dress code. Because the firm has an image that it wants to project....and as such once you get into the firm, you have to reflect that image at work.

Also, some of you guys are going to work in factories and labs (like my pater who spent a lot of time in labs)...have to observe dress and hair codes, because if your dreadlocks gets caught in some machinery, the amount of money you go spend for hospital to fix the resulting injury no be small.

It's all about preparing you for the world of tomorrow. Employers don't give a s+ht about your personal dress preferences. They all want you to dress one kind everyday you come into work for any reason from 'The boss said so' to 'Safety first'. You can come and shout hypocrisy and that they want to make you look like SU, by the time they have issued sack letter to you, you go come beg.

Even for self employment , after a while you will see that clients prefer people who dress corporately to someone dressed in dreads and so on.

Oga, the world is not here to cater for your beliefs, you and me. I am in a profession where there is a dress code. They were already beating it into us by 200 level. I no like am, but eventually I complied. By the time I had to look for job, I was thanking those people who were shouting at us in uni over how we dressed.

Anyway, it's all hypocrisy to you...so I end am here. When you collect certificate, you go soon see the reality.

So, the VC of Benue state university is now the governor of Benue state, or the Commisioner of Police, or the Commisioner in charge of internal security for the state? Or he has now become Chief of Army staff, or President of Nigeria? For your mind? cheesy

Oga, you guys should stop all this childish complaints. Tomorrow, when you look for job, you go see that every employer has dress codes, and even if you say you go do self employed...clients prefer corporate to casual.

Ask their governor and the president, not the VC of the university. VC no be governor of state.

All the VC that became governor of state had to resign their job as VC first, then contest.

irrelevant to academic pursuit of excellence when u can't takecare of the main and important stuffs which the students need.

The university is the a religious ground for monitoring people personal habits or dressing along as its not illegal or abused.

Fix the damn university system and stop chasing shadows. Go to Asia and Europe and see how students dress and yet excel but ur Africa mentality keep u trapped in thinking its by mini skirt and armless which are only personal and individual preferences nobody is forced to dress up or down..

Universities have been doing dress codes since 2005/6. Back then there was no APC at all.

Yeah, and many of them students in the same Asia and Europe don't 'dress anyhow'...

Plus it is a University. If you no like there rules, port to another university where there are no such rules.

As for fixing the university, anytime ASUU goes on strike on the matter, you guys will tell them to go and rest. Also, anytime things like higer fees or improving Nigeria's tax to gdp ratio is put on the table...so that we can have the type of funds European and Asian unis have (and some European countries take half their citizens income in tax in return for things like free education)...you guys will say no.

Plus were they excelling when they dressed anyhow? cheesy
