Bro he got to the Afcon team base on injury to ndidi nothing else. If ndidi was fit, if he like make he win best player for Belgium Peseiro for no call hassan
he made the first list of over 30 players to be considered for the final list

His performance in the UCL made that possible for him to be under consideration to be placed on standby and fortunately for him Ndidi’s injury granted him the opportunity to be included as a replacement for the leicester man

Playing in the europe club competitions opens doors to bigger leagues and clubs for players

Yak earned a move to England as a young star after shining with Maccabi Haifa in the ucl. He even scored a hattrick against man united

Babayaro earned a big move to chelsea from anderlecht after doing well as a 17 year old for the Belgian club in the ucl

Yusuf Atanda Ayinla caught the eyes of national team handlers playing in the ucl with dynamo Kiev against Madrid where he held his own against almighty zizou

Dictating plays from midfield goes beyond playing long passes. The Deeplying midfielder should have the most touches of the ball. The game goes through him, both short and long passes. I can't remember Iwobi switching the game from left to right or from right to left. I'm not saying Iwobi is a poor player but Nwakali does these effortlessly. Is it that you guys don't watch football enough to understand what Nwakali brings?

The DLM is supposed to be an arsonist and a fire fighter. He can turn the heat up when gamestates demand it yet quell the flames others ignite.

And yes the fire fighting is done on the ball like Jorginho & off the ball like Rice.

Can you list a Nigerian midfielder you know who can do the above listed effortlessly if you exempt Nwakali?

Nwakali does this effortlessly and top clubs or any club in top 5 leagues still have not come snatch him up

Nwakali supporters are the problem of this thread. How you guys glorify and hail the mysterious talent of this journeyman that is invisible to top club scouts in germany, england, italy, spain and even france baffles me

You guys need to come of it.

I expected our boys to do more for Alhassan Yusuf as he was being manhandled by the E.G Players.

Dude is kinda shy and timid.

His fellow players need to speak up for him every time he is being fouled.

Here we go! Lets wait for Man City to sign him before we believe he is good! We are Nigeria you know, the country with 5 world cup trophies.

Everyone is dealing with the result in their own way when everybody don calm down we will resume analysis grin

Victor deserves to be criticized for his misses today but I find some of the takes a bit baffling considering that he still scored today. Osimhen is wack, is overated but in two tournament matches he has already scored more goals than some peoples favorites and legends wey no score single goal in 9 tournaments. Make I off mic sha.

Musa has scored more world cup goals than than your favorite and legend. We should then named Musa as Nigeria Goat.

I hear you chief and I agree with your assertions I'm just saying criticize with fairness how many many AFCONS or WcQs has he F----- up for us to be already have questioning his legacy? If he wasn't trying enough or has a history of constantly letting the team down I would understand some people's points of view but slagging of your best player to prove what?

As per legendary status Drogba didn't win a spoon for CIV but no one doubts his legend so these things happen but that is not my prayer for Osimhen. I still back him to deliver for us in the big moments.

I'm definitely not for trashing him. Not at all. He's been a reliable striker for us. No one can take that away from him.

Not Man City let any top 15 club in England, Italy, Spain, France or Germany come for him

You guys are just carried away with sentiment.

I will rather pick an NPFL midfielder instead of Nwakali

I have followed him for years so I'm pretty confident but as far the game there wasn't much to judge.

As for Nwabili, nothing to really judge him for in this match. Until we meet CIV

This AFCON has goals sha. Last AFCON the group stage was serious binary football.

minfelix:
Moffi or Boniface go bury some of those one on one wey osimhen throway sha

Maybe Moffi but Boniface I no sure. His finishing is worse than Osimhen’s

even a decent club in Belgium and Holland won’t be bad

Or at worst play for top clubs in obscure leagues like Slavia Prague, Sparta Prague, PAOK, Red star Belgrade, dynamo Zagreb, dynamo Kiev, shaktar doneskt, sturm graz, Austria wein, Salzburg, AEK Athens, Olympiacos, panathiniakos, Basel, fc Zurich, steau bucatesti, etc

He looked calm, claimed crosses well, used his legs well too.
He didn't have much to do, faced one shot all game, which he could do very little about.
So I can't really place him anywhere yet.

Issorait.

We will see what the next game brings. I agree he wasn't really tested this game.

It really makes you wonder.

I think we have managed the Nwakali hype for too many years and it's not translating to his club career. Whatever went wrong post-U17 has only gotten worse.

Maybe he shouldn't have signed for Arsenal to start with, if he had started small like Osimhen, his career projection may have been different.

signing for arsenal wasn’t the issue but he felt so relaxed believing that only his talent and achievements in youth football will pave way for him

Arsenal tried and loaned him to smaller clubs in less competitive leagues but still he couldn’t make the cut

I was a huge fan of his then but gave up when he couldn’t mk the starting 11 of Porto’s B team regularly

I really can't tell why he's career has gone this route. Personally, due to the constant talk about his qualities, I've always wished for him to be invited just so we know how he'd made us tick. Unfortunately I'm not the coaches

Yekini baba himself it took time before he found his rhythm many years of below average performances in the national team before he hit his peak. Please criticize and push Osimhen to be better but easy on the demoralizing comments.

Yes you are right about Yekini. He was in Afcon 84 in Ivory Coast but we have Chibuzor Ehielegbu as the main man.Yekini didn't have a goal in Afcon 84 but from 1988 to 1994 Afcon he rose as one of the best strikers in Africa.

Osimhen is young and still has a long way to go but today's match is a reflection that he need to do more.
