Why do you think it's buying

On GOLD/AUD, I have been on it since last month December 20th, even at the time they claim that trading is no advisable but the market gave me a rosy pattern, I had to jump into it and allow it to ride. I am 800pips on it and it still has room to run to the upside. Gold pairs is sweet. You will enjoy it when you get it right. This year go sweet.

How many trades do you backtest before you are confident in a strategy.
I am specifically interested in scalpers but i can take answers from other types of traders.

You back test till you yourself deem yourself confident(could take months, years)... till you know why you are entering a trade as well why you are exiting

Easiest scalping method is CHOCH on 4hr timeframe using 15min entry confirmation.

Just watch few videos on CHOCH

The sl was voided by less than a basis point, had to adjust and reentered the trade with the next available sl valid zone. Also saw a reentry on the retest point on m5 timeframe. 2nd Sl area/zone is denoted with green.
