The guy took the matter so serious and was soliciting funds for the rescue of the victims. So, People accused him of being a bigot that he was doing it because it involves a northerner. That was why he had to clarify.

Even though it doesn't matter where they are from, I have never met a Yoruba person called Najeeba or their dad Alhaji Mansoor Al-Kadriyar. The name from Google/Facebook points to Kaduna. Who knows, the family may also be fulanis from Ilorin.
