Let's savour the win but the conversion rate of the team has to improve cos as the tourney progresses, there will be paucity of clear cut goal scoring opportunities.

Pleasantly surprised by Onuachu's hold up play.

Aina and Bassey did a lot.

This CIV is an average team..it takes nothing away from Naija though. It's always sweet beating a rival in their backyard.

The man was determined to lock shop after the goal .lol.

When I saw Osayi coming on, I thought he wanted to play 4 CB..but Osayi was moved upfront, tasked to defend the flank...
when I saw his line up and formation my confidence grew

I thought he will be tempted to deploy a 2 man attack leaving the midfield porous since the team needs a win and had it been he did that CIV would hv mauled us

We were complaining of Chuks, only for Simon to come in and damn terrible. When I listed him amongst names that should bid farewell to Eagles after AFCON, some Dudes were asking why. LOL!
Simon obviously came in to defend and he did that perfectly.

he need to talk to the players because it seem they all want personal glory

Samu had a clear through pass to play in Lookman but he decided to go solo

Also Osayi made the same mistake when he came in

We suppose win this game like 2-3 nil

Peseiro should consider resting Osimhen for the next game...or not allow him play this long ..
We are going to beat Guinea Bissau, and it would be safer to rest Osimhen, least his injury woes catch up with him before the knockout stage
ha nooooo, we need to win that game, instead he should rest Iwobi and play Aribo

Also maybe Onyedika for Onyeka

Tactics and formation determine the potency of a team attack.
Our formation of 532 when off the ball and 343 when with the ball would not yeild more than 2 goal. Cote d' Ivoire is a good team.

For all the fawning talk about Nigeria's attack, our attack is ineffective.

Once again, we missed some good chances...the boys need to work on that..

It's hard to pick a MOTM...Aina, Bassey, Nwabili, Osimhen,Ekong, Onyeka, even Ajayi and Iwobi were all solid...

I think for now the strategy for the next game should be like today’s game, don’t loose don’t concede, if you can win, fine but a draw takes us through worse case as one of the best losers.

There’s no point expecting miracles signs and wonders in the next game, qualifying for the next round should be our strategy now whether we play well or badly against Guinea Bissau, just don’t loose.

Winning today no matter how has sent a strong signal to the rest teams in this competition whoever we meet in the next round will come charging at us like tomorrow no Dey. Make we learn from the last afcon. One game at a time pls

JPes need to come out and tell us who cut soap for him. Mourinho?

TBH, I was completely knock off by that Bright's substitution. It was brilliant and unexpected. The icing on the cake would have been Bright grabbing a goal or an assist from the chance he fluffed.

BTW what was JPes sniffing during the PK?
