Wifey and two young kids already secured Study permit in Canada. The other two old kids (ages 10 and 12) are with me in Nigeria. The plan is to allow the 10 years old to join mum later in Canada for her studies. Two options are available for me when I intend to apply for visitor visa:

1. Apply for visitor visa for myself and the 12 yrs, while the 10yrs go on study visa.

2. Apply for visitor visa for myself and the rest of the other children (12yrs and 10yrs). Then while in Canada, the 10yrs converts her visitor visa to study visa. The 12yrs will certainly be with me in Nigeria for now.

I have been really disturbed on the best option to take. I need gurus to help out please. @Lekiboboe, @Frankrbbn1 please advice. I know this is like your bread and butter grin
Any good advise is welcomed.
Thanks All.

@JustMellow, Please what's your opinion on this?

Hello everyone,
I appreciate the effort you all put in here for the benefit of us all. I've been a silent reader here for a very long time and now that I've gathered lots of information, I'd like to start my journey.
Please, I have a couple of questions to ask.
1. Which is the best to go for in Canada, Masters, Post Graduate Diploma or post Graduate Certificate?
Hello, I find it hard to believe you have been following this thread.
Going for a master's also depends on your class of graduation from second-class upper you can apply directly for a master's program at University while second-class lower you can't apply for a master's program directly unless you go through a prospective supervisor. All programs are good depend on your budget and class of graduation.
2. What is the difference between Post Graduate Diploma and Post Graduate Certificate?
Duration and Depth:
Post Graduate Diploma (PGD): Typically, a PGD is a more extended program compared to a PGC. It usually involves a more in-depth study of a particular subject, often requiring more credits and a more comprehensive curriculum.
Post Graduate Certificate (PGC): PGC programs are generally shorter in duration and may focus on a specific area or skill set within a broader field. They are designed to provide specialized knowledge or skills without the comprehensive scope of a diploma.
Admission Requirements:
Post Graduate Diploma (PGD): PGD programs may have slightly higher entry requirements compared to PGC. They might require a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Post Graduate Certificate (PGC): PGC programs might have more flexible entry requirements, making them accessible to individuals with relevant work experience or specific qualifications.
Postgraduate Diploma (PGD): PGD programs frequently seek to give a more complete grasp of a subject or sector. They may be helpful for persons seeking a deeper knowledge basis for job success.
Postgraduate Certificate (PGC): PGC programs are often more concentrated and aim to teach specific skills or knowledge. They can help people improve their skills in a certain field rapidly.
Post Graduate Diploma (PGD): PGD programs are typically acknowledged as a higher level of education and may be more valuable in terms of career growth or particular professional responsibilities.
Post Graduate Certificate (PGC): PGC programs are useful for swiftly acquiring specialized skills and improving employment in particular fields, but they may not carry the same weight as a complete diploma in some situations.
Thank you so much!

Hello Kefidoh,

After a Bachelor's, if you graduated a year interval, opting for a Master's shows proper progression. For two-year intervals after graduation, a PGD/C can be selected if you have no business becoming an academic.

PGD/C focuses on professional studies whilst the Master's offers course-based (professional study) and Thesis-based (academic/researcher) teachings. I believe you have your answer?!

You can put your question 2 on Google for better clarity.

You too will testify!

Thank you so much for the reply. I really appreciate.

These are colleges, and not universities.

Yes, they both offer PGWP eligible programs in some of their campuses. Please check the link for better guidance.

You don't have to fill the form nor upload anything there, as long as you wouldn't be authorizing IRCC to release/share your information with anyone.

While I do not have the details of your wife's study permit, your 10yrs old will still be able to attend school regardless of if he/she goes on visitor record or study permit.

My own opinion will be for you three to apply for visitor record.

Absolutely not! What suspicion are we even talking about here?

It isn't by date of application. Don't be surprised that some who applied in December have got their application approved.

Yes, I know. But there's something about this date bracket of early November applications, all the people I know that submitted their application around that date are yet to get decision including me. Even it's been 1 month since I passed my medical review, eligibility review not yet started. Although I saw November 8th somewhere sha.

I was served a second breakfast this evening. The only reason for the refusal is insufficient funds. I had over 30m in my account with lump sum well explained with documents. I have requested for my GCMS note. It's really heartbreaking and discouraging.

Advice pls.

Is it advisable to state my Master's degree when applying for my study visa for a 2yr graduate certificate?
I'm trying to avoid being overqualified?
If I don't state it when applying, is there a possibility that I can tender it in future?

It is WES verified and intend to use it when I get there. And it's relevant both to my experience and the grad certificate I'm applying for.

Thanks
