I hope Iheanacho on the wings pays off. He certainly has the shooting prowess but can we trust his dribbling to get past markers?

What exactly are you on about? Someone was still creating chances that Osimhen was wasting from way way deep and you're still asking this question? Lol. Remove him from this team and let us see who will be the 1st to swear for Peseiro. He is an important figure in that midfield but is not playing closer to attack as expected. And none can play it in this current set up.

quite a pointless activity. You've never for once rated him even when he performed so why bother with his stats.

So u didn't hear Daniel Amokachi saying Iwobi should be freed up to make sexy penetrative passes? cheesy against Ivory Coast his role wasn't creativity. We needed him to put in a shift and that's what he did.

Aribo still never impress me for africa football sha

This is a good 😊 topic

What is your definition of African football ⚽❓

What I can tell you is there are cultural dynamics as well coaching practices and different emphasis.

In Africa we lay a lot of emphasis on dribbling, skills , athletic ability even physicality. But less on football intelligence and management, end product crosses, free kicks , intelligent disguised passes, etc.

Trent Alexander was actually a midfielder who was called to play RB , that's where is opportunity came from. He seized it with both hands didn't complain that he was midfielder, well the rest is history.

What you will find in the top academies is emphasis on the things we ignore. You really need to be able to cross the ball with both feet by 15 if you want to progress.

It's some of tihre basics not all but a good number of our homegrown players have not mastered. This can be a problem for progression.

I see these handicaps in Zaidu, Chukwueze and to a lesser extent Moses S.

I love African football ⚽ without all the restrictive tactics and team strategies. It is fantastic entertainment, however winning may be a problem.

What do you think.

I've been to most premier League academies as well as championship ones. And these are my observations.

Peseiro is just Rohr's identical twin tactically.

When playing "weaker" opposition, both men use 433 and play offensively with long passes from the center-backs used to locate the forwards and a generally positive approach.

Against "stronger" opposition, Rohr and Peseiro alike adopt a 3-4-3 formation with a pragmatic approach based on the "sit back and hit on the break" doctrine.

Neither manager has shown any willingness or ability to solve our midfielders' cohesion and passing deficiencies, choosing to bypass the midfield with the long balls instead.

In replacing Rohr with Peseiro, the NFF only sold their monkey to buy a dog🤷.
Abeg refresh my memory. Apart from the friendly against Argentina, I can't remember Rohr playing a 3-4-3 in any competitive match.

Dude KC will drift inwards to his comfort zone. Can he cross the ball with his right foot 👣❓

Has he got blistering pace and wavey deceptive skills to get past players IMO a big No. I think he is more suited to being a SS or a number 9

has he ever played in any of the mentioned positions?

Hope you know he was in Arsenal for 10 years and played with Eze, Iwobi, before going to Southampton then Burnley.

He played SS , LW, AM for Burnley but predominantly inverted wingers from the right .

Rohr didn't even use 3-4-3. It was 3-5-2 or 5-3-2.. I believe he used the formation in some games aside that Argentina game... But mostly, post 2019 AFCON,he stuck with 4-4-2, 4-2-4 and 4-4-1-1...

I don't understand why people are expecting Chukwueze and Iheanacho to be crossing the ball when playing on the right wing..They are predominantly left footers... Their style is to cut into the middle from the flanks...

Ademola Lookman assisted with his left foot in the first game against EQG. Osimhen’s goal grin
It’s rare to see though

That our defence is stacked with versatile players who have proven they can play more than one position effectively..
Aina: RB, LB, RWB, LWB
Bassey: LB, CB, LWB
Awazeim: CB, RB
Osayi- RB, RW
Ajayi- CB, DM(Although he was terrible the last time he played there in the GWG)
You can safely add DM to bassey's.
