Have you checked the Transmission fluid level, if it's filter is okay and if the sump has not been pushed inwards?

Also, scan and post codes for remote assistance.

Yes. I did travel, pls try create schedule at least 16hrs before coming so you do not burn fuel next time or come and then go back due to inability to attend to you. Sorry about this.
Back to your error,
check the fluid state, is it dirty or low. Pull out the connector for the VGS and conductor plate to check if it's filled with oil or not.

If everything is right, you may replace transmission.

An underlying transmission, or transmission control module or electrical issue can cause it.

I got a lexus 04 ES330 Tokunbo for my mom last year September. When it arrived in Lagos, it was scanned by my mechanic and necessary repairs were done. About a month later, I installed a car tracker in the car.

Here is the problem: To get the car started each morning, you have to crank it twice, After the first crank, you have to wait for about 3-5minute then crank it again. This is the only issue she is having with the car. Every other thing works fine.

I have attached a screenshot of the scan result.

Turns out it was the rear differential oil that was bad and expired
Had to replaced it. Now, there's no more burnt smell anymore .

Okay. That's nice, but the fluid doesn't give a burning smell, rather a sulphuric or rotten pungent smell

If you can go for very high quality, pls do. I personally don't subscribe to Tokunbo as alot of them are subjected to various degrees of wear and tears thus diminishing their performance and lifespan. Also, most dubious parts sellers fraudulently refill and sell worn out shocks to unsuspecting buyers and these won't last.

You may wish to have this knowledge at the back of your mind. You giving your car to someone you do not trust based on finances tells alot. You trust someone with a car that your life, that of your loved ones and other road users depend upon for safe operations yet you do not trust him for finance?


Baba, if you don't trust someone avoid the services of such person.
