Why do we always think that the past was far better than the present, even though the world is clearly improving in so many ways everyday?

In today world we are far better than ever before, because we have so many advantages and the tools that makes life much easier.

I can remember vividly walking about 15 km to see my secondary school friends at home only to be told by their mother they are not at home. But i will have to figure out at least 5 spots where they will be at that particular time.

From my guess If they are not here. Then They will be there or there, etc. and i will have to trek more km from Point A to Point B, C, D and when i will ask people they will tell me the last time they saw them they went that way. And 98% of the time i will find them eventually except they went out of town like going to far cyber cafa or to swim in the river. But if it were to be now it would have been very much easier with a phone call.

(To me it means we have mastered the act of solution to a difficult challenges of those days) with limited tools and technology we are able to pass messages like teleport. When your mother shouting your name around town looking for you. Alot of people will pick that action and passed it across. Like If you see john tell him his mother is looking for him. Miraculously john is playing football and someone will tell him john I heard your mother is looking for you.

Similar way Jesus message spread across town even without social media or news outlets. People just pass it across. The same thing with rumors and no way to verify it unlike today.

And remembering of all of that alone can me me cry.

The act of nostalgia and good old days makes us cry or shed tears.

Listen to old songs and having a flash back or just thinking of old memories can get us emotional.

Because we always forget as we grow older times and things also change.
The modern world need cash but we don't want to spend the money, and lastly the population is not like before.

evidence of a cognitive tendency we share to selectively remember the past as better than it was, especially when the present doesn't feel so good.

.. in other words, it's just a variation of the grass seemingly greener on the other side of the divide.
Why I think it's so is because we judge the past (.. while we were naive) with our maturity in the present.
Things are not much different, actually.

I'd like to go back in time, not to change anything but to feel some things again

Inventions are suppose to make life easier and boost productivity but when not properly applied to increase productivity and so many, or even all good things continue to be desired, too many wants lead to criminal means being embraced to fulfil the wants.

Some people were born crying, lived complaining and died regretting... There was no time life was easy for any generation anywhere. Life has always been hard. Even in this our time, while others are busy erecting structures, getting higher degrees or esterbling businesses, some are currently engulfed in murmuring and complaining about the hard time-i feel for them.

Trust me, the past was far better. The greed and covetousness wasn't this terrible unlike what we have now. We lived and did things more natural, now everything seems artificial. Money and media now control the entire world. We are now living a fast paced lifestyle. Always chasing after material things only to die without taking any along. God go epp us.
