Re: Senator Nwoko Initiates Bill On Monthly Payment Of Rent by Kobojunkie: 12:16am On Jan 28 |
iLoveYouToo:Abegi There are places that do not charge 1-2 years out there. Look for them. 2. You as a landlord why are not now currently charging month-to-month rent from your tenants? Lying all over the place does not a point make. |

Re: Senator Nwoko Initiates Bill On Monthly Payment Of Rent by Kobojunkie: 12:30am On Jan 28 |
12345baba:What for? They don't renters to sign such contractors, do they? The renters can easily choose to go find themselves other landlords to do business with. The law is not meant to be used as a tool to bully landlords or impose the ridiculous. |

All we need here in 9ja is to bring down the price of rent not a month payment, the increase in house rent is just too much all we need is bringing down the price in such a way in are helping the poor |

A Senator is proposing a Bill that will help you and your family and you are insulting his personal life which doesn't even concern you in the 1st place.... So paying monthly rents is of no benefit to you? Trimjos: |
Re: Senator Nwoko Initiates Bill On Monthly Payment Of Rent by Kobojunkie: 1:12am On Jan 28 |
DOSINCLAIR:Help his family with what exactly? 2. There are landlords out there who currently offer monthly rent even today in Nigeria. If his family truly wanted monthly rent, they would simply search for and only accept that. Trying to use legislation to force landlords to offer monthly contract is against business and eventually renters pay. |
Re: Senator Nwoko Initiates Bill On Monthly Payment Of Rent by Raygipson1989: 1:28am On Jan 28 |
Is that the problem affecting the citizens now? Is monthly payment going to reduce the cost of rent? Is monthly payment going to reduce dollar rate and prices of building materials? Very foolish people elected by foolish people too because of 5000 naira. All Nigeria senators and house of rep members are foolish |
Re: Senator Nwoko Initiates Bill On Monthly Payment Of Rent by Jeje247: 1:29am On Jan 28 |
It's a very great idea. The pressure of gathering money for rent yearly can be frustrating. It's better for salary earners. Just pay up as soon as you receive salary and rest. Business people should enjoy this too. |
Re: Senator Nwoko Initiates Bill On Monthly Payment Of Rent by Raygipson1989: 1:32am On Jan 28 |
Is it going to reduce the rent? How do we even think self? You are one of the reasons our politicians thinks us as a fool. He wants to imitate western world, he wants to copy what we are not. So if you can't pay a month rent, then you landlord should kick you out? |
Re: Senator Nwoko Initiates Bill On Monthly Payment Of Rent by Jeje247: 1:34am On Jan 28 |
RevolverOcelot:monthly rent had been the status quo until about 15/20 years ago |
Re: Senator Nwoko Initiates Bill On Monthly Payment Of Rent by Ogbonimoni: 1:40am On Jan 28 |
it's the best bill in a long while.i know Shylock landlords and greedy jobless agents will rush here to castigate it .it's the most civilised and fairest rent arrangement.firstly,it encourage seriousness as it will keep the Tennant's up and running in their hussles.,secondly,it allows easy severance of tenancy in case of issues, thirdly the landlord can quickly cut off long rent payment default.and fourthly, tenant will not be working for landlords like one year/two years rend advance. |
Re: Senator Nwoko Initiates Bill On Monthly Payment Of Rent by Jeje247: 1:50am On Jan 28 |
Ogbonimoni:It's the best, but landlords use the yearly payment as a means of passing the burden of saving to the tenant. Instead of collecting monthly and save for their projects, school fees, etc, they pass on the challenge to their tenants to fight through yearly. Even they know it's not easy to cough out such stupendous amounts at once 1 Like 1 Share |

This one is not wise at all , only wise at marrying plenty Youngies from porverty Stricken background, this monthly move is crap ,this can only be good in Civilised western countries were you are paid by the hour and day or the u.k were workers are paid twice a month ,not Nigeria were business owners and even government default on monthly salary payment , Nigeria is not a society good for monthly rent payment, more over paying yearly makes a tenant plan ahead better and the landlord too gets his or her payment in huge bulks which is better |
Re: Senator Nwoko Initiates Bill On Monthly Payment Of Rent by Tonididdyx: 3:43am On Jan 28 |
BS ... So tenants can pay at any time of the month they like or owe many months and finally move out one night with unpaid rents. . |

Trimjos:You are shoeing your foolishness online calling an idea meant to ease people's life foolish. Is it mortgage of 3% year is foolish or paying rent for one month as it's obtainable in Western world instead of 1 year. Collect sense |

Re: Senator Nwoko Initiates Bill On Monthly Payment Of Rent by iLoveYouToo(m): 6:44am On Jan 28 |
Kobojunkie: I seriously wish I’d charged monthly. Half my tenants on one stretch are students and they’re owing big time. I’m not one to be ruthless else… Half the others are still for over a year (even a relative), it’s crazy. I hope to implement this very monthly payment plan when next I visit, that’s if by then it’s not already a law. I also want to get an outfit to run the business since tenants have decided to be funny That’s why I welcome the idea of monthly payments. It’s not the norm that’s why I haven’t explored it |

Small pikin husband who send u message? How dat one be the major problem when the dollar rate is on the roof? Una no go pass bill restricting politicians from traveling abroad for medical treatment or their children living abroad. I am a tenant, but honestly speaking, that bill will put pressure on the average Nigerian tenant. |
