There is no crisis between the Ijaws and Urhobos. A handful of clash shouldn't be reported as a clash between these two ethnic brothers. There also exists a packet of clash in Aladja, but there is absolute no tension between these two group.

For clarification, the Urhobos in Bomadi have lived peacefully with their Ijaw neighbours for centuries. In fact, the Ijaws are a core of the Urhobos and so is the Urhobos a core of Ijaw.

There are significant number of Igbo speaking group in Delta and this fight has nothing to do with them and they should rather stay away from it. Simple

Why are the urhobos/ijaw/itsekiri in Delta state always fighting one other? I lost my friends dad to this same Okwagbe/Obotie crisis 4 years ago. My former neighbors were Ijaw/Itsekiri we settled their quarells on a monthly basis. I had to move out due to their never ending enthnic battles.

An you can see, those clamouring for nigeria to break up are liars and deceivers those guys ordinarily should be brothers but what can u see? greed..those clamouring for division want to become emperors of the new formed state..what we need are strong institutions.if possible sef the whole Africa should be one whole nation.

The Urhobos and Ijaws can live peacefully in Burutu and Bomadi without any clash. They've been living as one.

What most of you don't know is that Ijaws form some ancestral bloc of the Urhobo people. Why many of you erroneously think all Urhobos migrated from somewhere in Edo state, the people who contributed to the enlargement of the group are the Ijaws etc. Either what you have in these LGAs are Ijaws with big Urhobo link and Urhobo with great Ijaw link.

I only wish these packet of clashes can end someday. I don't know why people who share same roots will pick up guns to fight eachother.

So you are a forward thinking person..the whole of Africa wasn't as big as USSR yet they existed.. the country called United States is almost a whole continent with some states bigger than the whole nigeria. The state of texas is bigger than nigeria and the development there we don't have half of it..Russia is still a very big country and they are thriving..many forward thinking leaders all around Africa have one time or the order spoken about a united Africa.. but I guess your brain is too small to comprehend the vision they have..if at all you can't learn than the constant division has no end cos in the end we are all human so why then should we clamour for what isn't the solution.
