This is to raise awareness about this terrible class of diseases

We'll make a thread of the top cancers killing people.

As well as ways you can prevent and reduce your risk of having these Cancers

BREAST CANCER

-Self breast examination
-Exclusive breastfeeding
-Reduce use of Oral contraceptives
-Reduce your Alcohol & smoking
-If you're Obese try and lose weight
- Healthy diet
-Know if Breast Cancer runs in your family
- Don't forget to get your Breast Mammogram

LUNG CANCER

- stop smoking

- Avoid staying around smokers (Passive smoking) -Try and avoid unnecessary exposure to radiation

- If possible live somewhere where there is reduced toxic air pollutants ( my worry about Port Harcourt people)

CERVICAL CANCER

-Get Vaccinated
-Go for your Pap smear
-Avoid multiple sexual partners
-Avoid unprotected sex

NB: Boys can also get vaccinated, can also carry HPV on the Penis, Mouth.
some HPV strains which can cause Penis cancer, Mouth and Throat Cancer

PROSTATE CANCER

-Try and know if it runs in your family
-Eat healthily
-Stop smoking
-Once you are above 40 your Doctor might order a PSA and other tests as required

COLON CANCER

-Stop smoking
-Reduce Alcohol
-Know If it runs in your family

-As you age above 40 try and get a colonoscopy (like a Camera inserted to view your intestines for problems), if it runs in your family your Dr might suggest earlier colonoscopy.

- Eat healthily

STOMACH CANCER

- stop smoking
- Reduce your Alcohol
- If you have Ulcer ensure it is well treated and follow up. poorly managed Ulcer can sometimes turn to cancer
PS- Ulcer should try and get an Endoscopy.
-Eat lots off fruit and vegetables

LIVER CANCER

-Reduce alcohol
-Stop smoking
- stop eating mouldy groundnut and Spoilt tomatoes (Ata Esha) (They can produce a Toxin that can cause Liver Cancer)
-Get your Hepatitis Vaccines .
- Practice safe sex Avoid sharing sharps. Have your own equipment

TESTICULAR CANCER

- Do a regular self testicular examination
-see a lump, change in size, painful balls or anything unusual go to the hospital

PENIS AND VAGINA CANCER

-Get your HPV Vaccines
-Avoid unprotected sex
-Try not to have multiple partners

Cancer of the Mouth

- Cut down alcohol
-Stop smoking
- Reduce MouthAction (HPV can cause it)
Notice any mouth ulcer or wound not healing see a Doctor

What are the home remedies to treat it.. I've been battling with ulcer since last June.. haven't gone to an hospital yet but I noticed I started feeling much better when I started drinking more water and sleeping often.

What can you suggest please, home remedy
