Another one was blaming Osimhen for allowing CAF to deflate his youthful exuberance, he said the doping testCAF had on him was what discouraged him from pressing the Angolans🤣🤣

Nigeria 🇳🇬 has moved from 34th to 32nd on the FIFA Rankings after beating Angola 🇦🇴. If we beat South Africa 🇿🇦 next tomorrow, we'll move up to 25th and if we win the finals, we'll enter Top 20 sharp ✅ probably 18th or 19th.

Let's go boys 🔥🔥🔥

The year France won the world cup, Giroud was the starting striker yet he didn't have a single shot on target. No be so?
Some people need to differentiate between tournament and league. In a tournament, all that matters is to progress till you get the cup. Nothing matters more than to win the match.

There are some players you just can't bench anyhow and Osimhen is one. My issue is the coach not subbing him off whenever he is tired. He already run down the opponent's defence for like 70 minutes. Bring in Moffi who is equally fast.
Don't mind them

Club football- you lose, you brush up and prepare to win the other.

Tournament football-You lose, you're out. Nobody remembers if you played the best football or had world class players. If you win, even if na carpenter full team, the World would laud them for eliminating the better team and hype them.

The only thing in common between national team football and club football is group stages of those tournaments. Lose and try win the next. After that nothing.

That's why since the Cameroon game, I've concluded that VO is doing like a Giroud-promax sorta. Winning aerial duels and opening up space for teammates to attack and also providing but this time, he's very unlucky with netting. I however feel this southie game, he'll do the needful.

It's like people are afraid to say the obvious.

VO greatest strengths are his relentless, never stop work rate, the raw determination and blind rage he uses to play . He is like a man on a mission that overcomes his handicap by his unparalleled mental attitude and single minded aggressive force to succeed. In this regard he is the best.

However, against equally fast, physically stronger 💪🏿 more robust and highly determined black African muscle head defenders he is struggling.

World class players use techniques, skill, deceptive play to overcome obstacles. These are not the attributes of VO.

VO relies on his aforementioned unique attributes, it's not going to be very successful in the AFCON that's now proven.

It's time for Moffi to come and maybe Victor can come in as a substitute to replace him or even complement him as second striker. Right now AFCON defenders have read him , he does the same thing he is not unpredictable.

He is still absolutely essential but we need to try Moffi and see what he can do. It's avwin win if Moffi does nothing for 45 minutes.

Then unleash a refreshed and full of running with greater determination VO, for 45 minutes of non stop aggression I think he will score at least two in such circumstances.

Particularly as players always tire in the last 40 minutes of a match .
What if we are chasing the game by then? Yoo weel naw bring in Victor to come and perform magic abi?🙄

Don't you know that victor is the reason opposition defenders are always low in confidence such that they're prone to commit errors?

You think his intimidating presence and workrate is not working? You think they're not reflecting on our favorable scorelines? You think it's only the defenders alone?

Wait, so if you're a sane coach, in this crucial stage as the semi finals you'll bench your most feared striker? You are funny if you don't know🤣🤣🤣

It's calculated by points bro, Naija was on 1506pts before, then moved to 1516.87pts, which is +10pts, if we win South Africa, we'll go up by +20pts, which will be approximately 1536pts and go above Sweden who are on 26th with 1531.13pts...

We started the tournament @1474pts and have amassed approximately +42pts so far...

I just watched Segun Odegbami's interview on Arise TV and heard him say that Peseiro should leave after the AFCON. The journalist was surprised and asked him why that should be the case when Peseiro already met the standards set for him by the NFF.

The journalist also told him that there's no guarantee that whoever replaces Peseiro would do better than him. Who's even available?... The journalist asked. Segun replied by saying "We know who the golden coaches are". The journalist asked him to name them and Segun couldn't. He didn't name any. He just kept on rambling about how Nigeria deserves better than the Semi finals, bla bla bla...

That man needs to be careful with the kinds of things he says. He's an influential personality when it comes to Nigerian football, so he should watch it. Rohr got sacked just few weeks to an AFCON that he qualified us for with ease; Eguavoen that is a local coach got employed and we all know how that ended. Eguavoen's reign was a total failure and an insult to local coaches.

Segun is anti-white coaches and he has not failed to hide it. If a white man should make even half of all the statements that Segun has made over the years, we would all call that white man a racist. If a white man should say that he prefers white coaches over black coaches, we would all call him out. There's a thin line between being pro-Nigerian and being a racist and he needs to be careful not to cross that line. What is wrong is wrong.

Nigerian football is very important to me. We need to protect it and not destroy it out of sentiments, favouritism and useless pride.

I know actually. It's just reminding me of the 2013 win too, the climb was not much. I just want it to be different this time.

Gbam! Na 'anyhow' football dey win tournament. Victory is what matters not who score. Although those people asking Osimhen to be dropped have got a perfect excuse for that. Osimhen missing chances night cost us one day but that doesn't mean we should turn a blind eye to his other activities on the pitch.

Osimhen is not as good a striker as he is touted to be. He is overrated

Anybody that doesn't like this statement should hug the nearest transformer grin grin grin

He has been figured out and in the Serie A, the same thing would happen. If they could do it in AFCON, then serie A defenders are just waiting for him

He should be benched. Yes, I said it and I own it with my full chest

Simple!!!

Having the most semi finals appearances isn't something that I'm proud of especially considering all those appearances have only converted to 3 trophies.

We must win this tournament at all costs. My short term wish is that we catch up to Cameroon in this decade.

Abeg park well

Football is not all about scoring, Osimhen is playing a different role here
He supports the defense, the midfield ànd create for others to score

His presence alone on the field Drew's like 3 defender away and keep them distracted for Lookman to score

He has even said team success is more important than his personal glory

In Germany league Harry Kaine has not scored since October. He just score this weekend. How many weeks be that compare to Osimhen in 3 games

Me I don't know if Osimhen should be benched but what i know is that he needs to start against South Africa.

His athleticism and bully-ish nature is exactly what we need to traumatize that SA defence much like chukwueze did to them in 2019.

Come to think of it, I never heard a single fan clamoring for Okocha to be benched in his playing days no matter how bad he plays.

It is unfair to keep Moffi (a starter in ligue 1) on the bench. Why call him up if you're not going to play him

You don't suddenly become a better player at the AFCON. Osimhen is technically poor and he won't change overnight

HIs wastage of chances will hunt the SE against SA. I can bet you.

Also, okocha was a set-piece specialist.

You can't claim to be a world class striker and be bad at basic things like positioning, first touch and finishing

You think Mourinho would've continuously started Osimhen if he were the coach despite liking him?
