Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 9:10am On Feb 06 |
BlueRayDick: He used Niger, because Disstroy used Edo. That was the beginning of the argument. He did not say majority of the youths in Niger are into fraud. He said Niger is known for fraud than Edo, and posted a twitter link for us to read, And that was where Itsrm commented You said majority of the youths in Edo state are into fraud. Is this the same thing? |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 9:15am On Feb 06 |
izzou: Lol... U are premising ur argument on prospa who says " ask around " The same prospa whom we both live in Lagos state ? For ur information I have friends at least 2 friends who reside in Niger state as we speak and I've not heard them mention anything like the Yahoo Yahoo pandemic in the south happening in Niger state. I was not even trying to talk down on Edo but it is ridiculous for Prospa to be making a case for Edo by using Niger as the base state. E no gel at all |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 9:19am On Feb 06 |
BlueRayDick: The argument was from twitter, and that was why my first quote to you was to chill, because hearing Niger was a first for me too. When It.srm said Niger was used more than any Northern state, I became interested. But you no even wan give Edo state (not even Benin) a chance to breathe. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Unlimited22: 9:35am On Feb 06 |
izzou:I don't need to browse. I already know the answer. It has 18. Just like I know Abia has 17, Rivers has 23, and Taraba has 16. I can name you all the LGAs in Abia and Taraba by heart, and probably like 20 of those in Rivers before I have to consult a reference point. Benin City alone has like 4 or 5 LGAs - Oredo, Ikpoba-Okha, Ovia North East (Ugbowo down to Isihor and Oluku), and Egor. If we're feeling charitable we can add Orhionmwon, because of Aduwawa down to Agbor Road axis. If you add Ogheghe sef you can even join Uhunmwode LGA And I will say nothing about the Esan LGAs, which are 4 in number, or Auchi, which is the seat of Etsako West LGA. I've mentioned 10 out of 18 LGAs. And given the sheer scale of the menace in the major towns of Ekpoma, Auchi, Irrua, and smaller towns like Uzairue, Okada, and the mega metrรณpolis of Benin, the answer will have to be yes. If you're looking at young men from 18-36 or so, the answer will have to be yes. I know this because I LIVED there. I saw it with my eyes. I had neighbours who were doctors and such wey still dey press. Even inside hospital for call room. 6 Likes 1 Share |

izzou: lol... I've gone through the link he dropped and all they are saying is that Northern youths also do fraud like their southern counterparts( which is actually no news to me ) The original poster mentioned Minna specifically. He did exactly the same thing prospa did by assuming the number of Fraudsters resident in Minna are more than those in Edo state as a whole. And yet here u are hassling me saying I was using Benin sample size to represent Edo state population when I've constantly maintained I did not. If u even read the thread further, u see other posters talking about Borno, Gombe , Kaduna etc. How do u rely on such anecdotal evidences? The fact that they are even talking about local scam mostly in the thread is even laughable. Do u know the amount of foreign scam pulled in Edo state, Delta state, Lagos state, Ogun state and Oyo state steady ? Most of the posters in that thread are talking about their personal experiences as either tech entrepreneurs, cyber security experts and IT professionals servicing Nigerian clients. I already said my use of the word "Majority" of Edo Youths may be exaggeration on my part, but saying fraud in Niger state is higher than that of Edo state is an untrue statement. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Unlimited22: 9:37am On Feb 06 |
BlueRayDick:It's not even an exaggeration per se. 51%-49% is a majority. |

Unlimited22: "From the data presented and correlated by that of the state, it's clear that large numbers of youths are engaged in this act. The age bracket involved in cybercrime is from 15 to less than 30 years, and prominent among them is dating scams, which is about 80 to 90 percent of the cybercrime activities in the state. The State Attorney General says a large number of Edo youths engage in cybercrime. I've not seen any Niger state government official saying same about Niger state. https://www.nairaland.com/7001130/edo-state-government-yahoo-boys I am concerned. Cyber fraud and Yahoo culture are big issues. I am calling on everyone to please send as much information as you can to my office. On Monday, I am going to see the Chairman of EFCC. I am not condemning those involved. There must be a reason why that culture has become so prolific in Edo State Even Obaseki the governor confirmed same. https://www.channelstv.com/2022/02/19/yahoo-boys-must-be-brilliant-we-need-to-redirect-their-thinking-positively-gov-obaseki/ |

Unlimited22: Where did the governor say majority of the youths are into fraud? He said it was rampant. Or we can also say Majority of Abuja youths are into Kidnapping and robberies since it is rampant. Majority of Lagos youths are into the thuggery and agberoism, since it is rampant. |

โบ๏ธ. It's hard to fight against stereotype. It's like someone also saying majority of delta youths are into yahoo. BlueRayDick you dey talk about the level of scam pulled in Benin, do you know about the level of scam pulled in this Niger. If I didn't bring up Niger state with evidence, alot more people won't have known and would have termed what I said as "ridiculous". The only reason you dye think say Edo State carry majority of fraudsters na because unemployment plenty. But we have states like ekiti too, osun, bayelsa who practically have the same unemployment issues with Edo State, how do the youths make money? ๐ |
