Lessons of the evening

Despite everything, we love Nigeria

Economical travails, insecurity, corruption, bad governance, tribal and religious clashes haven't diminished our love for our nation.

If we all could not bear to watch the Super Eagles fail, such that our hearts were in our mouths while the match lasted, then it only means one thing; We love Nigeria.

In the spirit of patriotism, Please do what you can, no matter how little or inconsequential it may seem, to help Nigeria stand again. Just do your little part. I will do mine.

God bless Nigeria

Upon all the happiness tonight, no giveaway to celebrate the win?

Make the rich and privileged assist the poor and less privileged to get something to eat tonight

Let the victory and happiness tonight be felt across the country! The winning really sweet me cheesy

It's called initial gragra. Hushpuppy did initial gragra, but now he's in jail. Unrelated to football, but you get the picture.

They were moving with balls as if they've got everything figured out. In the AET time, they were delaying thinking they got a keeper called Wall of Jericho, only to realize he's only a wall against Cape Verde. cheesy

Hmmm

We are out. South africa in the final.

Once it went to penalties, Nigeria was at a disadvantage

See us in the third place match. It was a nice try. Time to focus on world cup and on fixing our football

So what do you have to say now that we are in the final?

WE WON THIS MATCH IN UNITY. WE ALL SUPPORTED OUR DARLING TEAM WITH ONE VOICE. THE PLAYERS PLAYED IN UNITY. NO TRIBALISM, NO THIS IS IBO, THIS IS YORUBA, THIS IS HAUSA.
THIS COUNTRY WILL ALWAYS WIN AND BE A GREAT NATION IF WE STOP ALLOWING THE POLITICIANS TO DIVIDE US FOR THEIR SELFISH GOALS AND AMBITION.

Don’t blame him too much. Na aboki

That Aboki called Yusuf may cost us this game.
Dude is senseless & has no business in this game. See a good example in Bassey

IkeOnyia:
Using aboki in defence or midfield is never advisable going by their violent nature. Ahmed Musa is productive because he is an attacker.

If not for corruption in NFF, wetin aboki dey find for first team?

My men of the game are Nwabali and Osimhen.
The referee cheated him by disallowing that second goal.
Nwabali did a Yoman job saving those two penalties.
All in all Nigeria was lucky.

There's nothing like domestic league. A league is still a league and it's even a greater advantage that most of them play together as a team in the same.
Well, compared to previous matches with Nigeria, they actually outplayed themselves.
Players playing at a higher level are exposed to higher level competiton on a regular basis, let's not run away from that. Players can play together at a Burindian club, that doesn't mean they beat Morrocco.

Why would we hide our faces? Like for real You failed to beat us in 90 min like you claimed. Local boys nearly gave you heart attacks against "Immigrants" in europe.

Useless fowl, we were obviously robbed. It should have 2:0 you Toad.
And even after robbing us and trying to cheat your way, we still destroyed Bafana Banana at their own strongest strategy, turning it into dust. Ewu

The best African club for almost a decade now has been a South African club side...the same side which had provided us with players that have got us to the semis.

Our ladies are African champions

The PSL is one of the most organized and competitive leagues in Africa

The number 1 sport in SA is football, so how are we not a footballing nation?

Give credit where it's due
SA is just like the USA that has organized and well funded local leagues and clubs, but football is not it's national sport.

Africa football remains N/W Africa dominated.

Can your domestic league provide you with players to compete at this level?

Guy, I agree with you on this. I am Nigerian.

The SA guys gave their best and the match could have gone anyway. To play 7 players from Mamelodi Sundown in the starting line up and still get to the Semis is an enviable standard. The SA League is among the top 3 in Africa and we must commend SAFA and the PSL for the good work they are doing.

Hope this crop of Bafana Bafana would bounce back stronger in the next edition of AFCON.

Big up to them

Yes, we play together we are not helped by one section... Why didn't you say black players help white ones at rugby? That's because It all boils down to your legendary uncle Tom mindset
