This is simply a political move that can't be sustained. By the time the stock with the traders finish, rice will hit N100k... When the new CBN Governor came on stream, dollars went from 800 to 1k, he said he will bring the exchange rate back to 700 & he achieved this by borrowing 💲3bn from abroad. As the 💲3bn finish, naira has gone to 1500. APC simply have no idea on how to run a country. All they know is just politics❗️❗️❗️ |

GemUnique:At least u made mention of of economics, and if u really understand economics in school, u wouldn't have said what u just said. Those guys are businessesmen and women and they have every right to hoard what they bought with their money. It is all over the world and not just Nigeria. Nigeria government should stop all this propaganda and face their responsibilities and leave those guys alone. There is no food scarcity anywhere in Nigeria, price are just high in everything due to Buhari and now Tinubu senseless & wicked policies |

The Marketers( retailers) are following trend of the distributor/manufacturer price so as to be able to purchase the exact quantity they sold..they don't want their quantities to reduce that's why they keep increases the retail price as the distributor/manufacturer increases..it's simple commerce. All I know is the major factor that determines prices of goods and commodities is the exchange rate and fuel price(transportation). Assuming a retailer have 100 bags of rice bought at #50k per bag in stock Andi sell at #55k per bag ...and the distributor said the next supply will be at #65k per bag... definitely he won't be able to meet up to the quantity (100 bags ) and the retailer has to increase the price of the current goods in stock so as to be able to meet up with the quantity (100 bags) in stock on the next supply..that's what's happening..by they way they too buy other goods and products which their prices has increased so it's tit for tat. Whats the minister of Finance saying about this ? All prices control agencies are silent and quite too! Naija for show 2 Likes 1 Share |
